I like this one. Not something I take every day but perfect for the weekend. It has a very complexed taste with a mix of flowers and possibly sandal wood, hard to tell but it works like a charm. It wont make you sneeze and it lasts for surprisingly long. I recommend that you try it if you havn't already.

Very dark, moist, and rich. Like most of F&T's proprietary scents, I have trouble untangling all the strands that go into making up this great snuff. It reminds me of old, mossy gardens in cool, damp places. Earth, dark soil, and stone, with shrubbery and flowers iin the background, but in no way obtrusively scented. More refined than regular Princes, with more of a subtle, floral component. It's rich, very heady stuff that is more assertive and earthy than the subtle, mysterious Old Paris, but not nearly as aggressive as WoS Brunswick, for example, which it distantly resembles. A classic among dark, moist snuffs.

Dark brown, moist and coarse in grind, this appears to be a blend of their Macouba and Princes. Rose, sandlewood, geranium and musk combine with the peaty, leathery tobacco base to offer a very satisfying snuff. The initial nose burn is pronounced, but this subsides to leave a long lasting aroma in the nose. Not as dark, and slightly easier to sniff than the Princes. Nicotine release is slow initially but builds with time. Highly recommended as an occasional treat. 9/10.

A pitch black blend. Very large blend, it isnt timid or shy at all it is thick rich and heavy. The grind and moisture allow you to get a very large amount up the hooter and the nicotine is very nice. The blend reminds me of RRM Maccoboy in a way but this is much more classy or refined, its for a price isnt it. Someone here described it as loamy potting soil and it looks like a fresh bag of potting soil and smells like it too, I'd imagine if you got some up your nose it would feel the same way. This doesnt really burn but rather lets you know its presence, I think you will know what I mean if you try it.

This is absolutely the best snuff I have ever tried. I don't use it all day but nothing can beat a generous pinch after a long day's work and a warm shower. The flavoring and connoisseur quality will make any man feel like royalty. It is very dark and quite coarse which make it easy and enjoyable. The rose like scent is heavenly. Buy some of this snuff! It will make your day, any day.

This is one of my favorites. I use a Fribourg & Treyer floral one almost every day, usually the last one I use for the day. The nicotine is slightly on the high side, so it can be an eye opener too. I found it very easy to take as a beginner since it is so heavy and course. It has the consistency of a rich loamy potting soil. You'll have to sniff a bit harder than normal to get it in due to its weight, but its worth the extra work. The color is nearly black. The scenting is strong, but not overdone. You still get a nice tobacco flavor. There is a slight burn, but not unpleasant. It also has a nice nasal passage clearing quality to it without any menthol. Now having had some other Princes types and other Fribourg & Treyer, I will always endevour to keep a supply of this in my collection. Oh, and the flavor will last for hours if you let it. You won't need to blow your nose in a hurry.

Princes Special is one of the most complex snuffs that I've come across. I would probably rate it higher if I liked moist snuffs more. The moisture content, and grind make it difficult to pinch, so a spoon makes it easier to take. Musk comes through first and pretty strong. It has a floral note to it that is almost sweet, I have heard that it is Geranium, but I can't tell flowers apart well enough to say for sure. A few seconds after snuffing, a subtle bourbon scent comes followed by the tonquin.

Princes Special is another interesting and complex snuff from F&T. In fact out of all the F&T snuffs this is without a doubt my third favourite (after HDT and Dr JR Justice in joint first place). It is very dark brown, fairly coarse, fairly moist and has a very nice yet subtle bite to it. Flavourings include rose (but not as strong as in the Macouba), sandalwood (but not as strong as in the French Carotte), musk, geranium and bourbon. What an excellent blend those flavourings produce!

F&T's quality seems obvious to me and while several of the flavors struck me as interesting initially, the underlying old school, oily, perfumerous character builds to a cloying and rather unpleasant note that lingers on and on. Princes Special is one of the least noxious and actually enjoyable the first few times I sampled it. While the F&T HDT is one of the finest snuffs I've had the pleasure of, the majority of their snuffs are definitely not my cup of tea. As a friend of mine recently described them, these snuffs are too "refined" for my philistine sensitivities, and I'll leave it at that. I do not however, find it fair to judge a snuff on my palate alone, and these are again, high quality and generously flavored products. To be fair, there's a chance that the tin I received is spoiled too. Another begrudging 3 for a snuff I find to resemble the finer fermented scents in a landfill.

As part of my present course of rediscovering Fribourg & Treyer, I presently have this little number in my day snuff box, and, I enjoy it! Has a wonderful aroma, which remains fresh in the nose for quite some time, which, is excellent when sat in the office and can't take a pinch as often as I would do when at home or out and about.
