I'm going to begin my study of the snuffs of the Kendal Brown type with this snuff. I probably should have started with KB Original from this company, but it was sold out. For now, this will be the baseline from which others will be measured. I like it. Its plain with a strong, but not over-rich natural tobacco scent. There is just a hint of citrus. It has a good earthy character to it. I think Samuel Gawith snuffs on the whole revolve around this character, but this is the starting point. This one is a little rough around the edges, but that's to be expected in what was tradtionally a working man's snuff. Blows out cleanly.

This is my first Samual Gawith review. So I don't know whether or not some of the smells in this are inherent in the tobacco used. Otherwise this one is quite strong and full bodied. Very strong citrus type scent. Not bergamot, but somewhat floral. If it is geranium then it is unlike any of the geranium scents that I have smelled. The scent settles quickly and the dark moist tobacco is not cloying and blows out relatively easily. The new tap out box is a little messy but this snuff is not sticky and cleans up just fine. Now having caught my eye, I am faced with another line of snuffs to try. Please note that I do rely on your comments to guide me. edit; after rehydrating this snuff has gained another star, wonderful stuff.

I tend to agree with the other reviewers. Quite different from F&T Kendal Brown - I don't understand the reason behind the names. I like the dark moist look and feel of it. Very pleasant and easy to take. It would be a contender for an after dinner snuff.

Pleasant enough, but not enough of a nicotine kick for me.

Darker and coarser than some KBs, with a slight orange/citrus undertone. A very good snuff and easy to take.

I love Samuel Gawith snuffs! (But) this one is pretty coarse, medium moisture,it has a nice light citrus note but seems to lack in nicotine,Probably a good one for the apprentice snuffer. This can and does fall out of the nose easily, still a pleasant snuff though.
