Reviews for Toque Espresso

I must echo the latest reviews that this Toque snuff is subpar. I anxiously awaited for this snuff being an aficionado of coffees. My tin was flavorless and even smelling the opened tin gave no espresso aroma. Thinking that the tin needed to air out I gave it some breathing time to no avail. I have had success with other Toque products (Absinthe & Christmas Pudding) but the espresso completely misses the mark. It is with terrible regret that I rate this one star but I cannot recommend this snuff for any espresso fan.

I was unhappy with this offering from Toque and very surprised as I have come to expect a certain standard from them. Perhaps the sample I received in a Toque bullet had been in storage for a while but it was stale, almost flavourless, very irritating on the nose and not really coffee-like at all! I love coffee snuffs and was excited to try this one as I had heard some positive things but could not beleive how poor it was when I tried it, I won't buy it again

This is one snuff from toque that is subpar to me. I try and try to like it, i have used almost all of a 10g tin, but alas I doubt I could bring myself to buy more. It smells of a coffee shop with people smoking in it. It lacks a true rich coffee flavour. I ground up some starbucks italian roast and put it in which made it better.

The obvious bench mark for any coffee snuff is the famous Cafe Royal. The Espresso is its equal in every respect. Whilst it does not have the extra notes that the Royal has - from the addition of liquor - it has a deep, deep coffee flavour that has to be experienced and savoured. This is like the chocolate in that it captures a single flavour with complete accuracy. If you love coffee beware of this snuff - it could be serioulsy addictive.

Really hits the typical espresso flavour. But as I favour a mellow coffee over the ocassionally hard hitting espresso, I´d enjoy a Toque Coffee more as an all day snuff, I guess. Nonetheless this is another fine snuff from England and I´ll restock it for sure.

A decent snuff, but to me the coffee isn't up front and readily apparent. This one has a complex set of scents, of which a very dark coffee just seems to be one. I agree with others who mention a smoky scent. Not a favorite coffee snuff, but interestingly works nicely when paired with an actual cup of coffee.

not at all what i expected but very good when snuffing it un biased. to me i mostly get straight tobacco with and earthy/sandy scent, then after a few pinches i start to sense a good natural yet subtle coffee grounds scent. not a favorite right now but it is one i could see moving up in ranks quite quickly.

I hate to be the lone dissenter in a series of good reviews, but this one just didn't do it for me. I'm not a regular drinker of coffee, so take the review with a grain of salt. The snuff is clearly high quality, and the grind and ingriedients are all up to Toque's high standards. However, the flavor I really don't care for. To me it simply smells and (I suppose tastes) like a spent coffee filter with the grounds still in it. To me, the non coffee drinker, the smell of unground coffee and a coffee shop are wonderful. The smell of a used coffee filter is off-putting. I'll finish the tin I got, maybe mix it with some Toque Chocolate, but I won't buy it again.

In many ways this is one of my favourite coffee snuffs as it doesn't try to be sweet and milky like some. I like my coffee plain and black and this snuff seems to emulate that very nicely. The flavouring takes very much a back seat to the good plain tobacco as well - something I heartily approve of.

Medium brown, medium moisture and grind. Definite coffee aroma, reminding me of spent coffee grounds, with a hint of earthiness and a quality tobacco finish. Easy to take, with a good nicotine level. This snuff is suitable any time of day as a pick me up, but the coffee aroma perhaps isn't as fresh or roasted as it could be. Try Snuff Store Cafe Noir, Samuel Gawith Black Coffee or even Mullins & Westley Emerald Mocha for something fresher and with more punch. 5/10.

Fresh tobacco with espresso flavor. Nice flavor, not overwhelming. Earthy over a solid tobacco base. Little burn and easy to take. Enjoyable. Easily, an all day snuff.

This is great coffee flavored snuff. Nice nicotine hit and the aroma is out of this world. I only wish it would last a little longer.

Wonderful snuff!!! I like the way the tobacco picks up the espresso. I like to use this with a coffee drink just to enhance the experience. It also complements all things chocolate.

Roderick at Toque says that he uses only natural flavors, and this Espresso is proof. Instead of calling this snuff coffee, it's called Espresso and that's what you get when you poke your nose in the tin. It's exactly what you smell when you stick your nose in a can of Lavazza. This snuff seems to carry its fair share of nicotine and even though the grind is on the fine side of medium it feels gritty in the nose and can lead to clogging. Moisture is just below medium, nicotine above medium but not quite high. This is a rich coffee-like snuff in the tin but the fragrance doesn't seem to carry into the nose. I get a burn right away and I can feel I took snuff but I just don't get enough flavor from this one. I'm not sure why this doesn't do it for me and I plan to keep trying in case it grows on me. I feel it's a bit abrasive in the nose and doesn't have enough fragrance when snuffed, although in the tin it's perfect. Still, it's a good quality snuff and worth trying if you're an Espresso fan. Don't expect sweet creamy flavors from this. This is a dark taste for people who like real Espresso coffee.

This is one of my favorite Toque's and I use it almost daily. Black coffee and tobacco notes give way to a deliciously dark roasted character that only lingers for a minute making me sniff again and again.... I can't get enough when I start with this one. The moist texture just makes taking huge pinches carefree but does give me a little trouble with the bullet. I like all of Toque's products so far but I put this in their top 5, I only wish it were a little drier.

This is my first Toque order, and my first foray into snuff, so take the review with a grain of salt. I originally thought I'd gotten a mislabeled bullet of Original, since that was what I had ordered, but having checked with fellow snuffheads with more experience, we've agreed that it is indeed Espresso. To me, this is the only Toque I've tried yet that doesn't nail the flavor exactly. It has a flavor that reminds me of the wrapper of a high quality cigar's wrapper, or maybe a much used humidor. It's a rich, dark tobacco flavor with a hint of smokiness, which for an espresso-flavored snuff is maybe not so good, but as a snuff period, it's fantastic! I do like this snuff a lot, it's a 5 star flavor (although as an espresso flavor it's maybe only a 1 or 2 star snuff...). I'll definitely reorder it.

i have to be in the mood for this one and i am very seldom. so i might not be the best judge. there clearly is coffee. and sometime i pick up something plastic-like - that might also be from the container i store it in. i will re-review this when i get the tin.

I enjoy this snuff a lot. I have tried other coffee blends and never tried one that I liked. This however really hits the nail dead on. It reminds me of strong coffee beans. As with all other Toque products the base tobacco is perfect and with the added Espresso you can't go wrong. If your one of those people who don't like the smell of coffee then this isn't for you. When Toque produces a snuff, it will smell exactly how it is supposed to!

This is a good blend, but not my favourite coffee. I think maybe I'm spoil with another snuff manufacturers coffee blend.

The very fist initial scent I picked up was a roasted scent very similar to the roasted scent I get from the Scotch Snuff which I absolutely love. So just on that alone I love it. The roasted scent soon transforms into a rich coffee bean. I am still able to pick up some tobacco in there so the Espresso is not overpowering.

I drink too much coffee and espresso already to be attracted to this flavor. My first try of this was out of a small Toque bullet, then I mixed it with the most excellent Toque Chocolate. Not being a fair judge for this snuff, I will have to get more for a retrial, after all I did use it up in short order. P.S. I have a tin of it now and being a coffee lover I'm exited to say it makes a great pinch. The different Toque flavors bring out different aspects of the base tobacco. Espresso does a good job of rounding out the fresh tobacco taste of Toque. I think now I can skip the idea of putting tobacco in the coffee maker.

This is SUPER stuff!! For eveyday use, it gives me that nice, strong real tobacco flavour. It's like smoking a good, strong cigar. Can't get enough of it. At present, my favourite everyday snuff
