First time trying this, I was a bit put out since it reminded me of the various Pöschl brands I used to buy in my youth. But I've found out that I was all wrong judging it. This is a lovely snuff. Easy to sniff, and good as an all-day snuff. This is the only mentholated snuff I use daily. The amount of nicotine is just perfect, and the menthol/eucalyptus open my sinuses and I feel fresh.

I can see why people love this stuff but it just doesnt go with me well...
The good: its got a real cool menthol blast that you will feel in your nose instantly .. it is very easy to take but youll still get a little burn. This snuff is quite fluffy in my opinion and seems very light when sniffing it. it reminds me of vicks vapor rub , " the smell atleast" .
The Bad: this might only apply to me or a few others... when i take this stuff it clears my sinuses instantly but about 10m after i am so clogged to where i cant even breathe.. even when i blow my nose i still feel clogged up for some reason. i would have given it 5 stars if it wasnt for this.. when i get clogged up like that it really makes me feel like ive caught a cold or bad allergies:(

easy to take, gentle menthol followed by a pleasant herby aroma. You can take this all day easily. It is currently sat by my keyboard for oppertunist pinches between deaths on DOD:S

This is my very first review..... So take it as you will. I like mentholated snuff. This one has a initial menthol kick with a predominate musky tobacco base. So, I think it is very well balanced.

Clearly this is McChrystal's flagship product and no doubt the most widely available English snuff in the world. The sheer number of reviews it recieves attest to that. Tradtional English medicated snuff are not my favorite style, so 3 stars is about as good as they can get for me. I'm happy with this one, because the menthol is moderate and not strong. The balance of flavor seems to be a spicy-herbal blend which seems to me to include camphor, peppermint and bergamot. I can't detect any eucalyptus as others do, but it may well be there. Love it or hate it, its the industry standard by which others are compared. The tobacco itself is of high quality, and I quite welcome its scent which is detectable beyond the menthol.

It is not bad, well grinded and tastes fine but it isn't really something special either. I prefer Hedges or medicated 99 as my standard snuff but I use this sometimes so I get some variation. It wont make you sneeze and are a good choice for beginners. The taste is mostly tobacco with a hint of menthol... and possibly a little eucalyptus.

I'm afraid that the popularity of this snuff tends to obscure what a truly great blend it actually is. Unlike the one dimensional menthol blast of some famous Englsih Medicated Snuffs, McC O&G is four dimensional, with a moderate menthol hit that still has he power to make one's eyes water, leading into a camphorated, citrusy coolness, and finally resting on the McC distinctive dusty, earthy, gingery tobacco base. Combined with a satisfying, though not overpowering, nicotine hit, this is one of the most sensually pleasing of all snuffs. It's popularity is fully deserved, and it is justifiably loved by both newcomers and the most jaded snuff snobs around. A work of art in the world of snuff, and let's hope they never change the recipe or run out of a key ingredient. Fanstatic on every level possible, easy to take, and widely available, what more could you want, except for a pound size bulk container. I'm not a fan of all McChrystal's snuffs; their Clove is one of most obnoxious snuffs I've ever had, but this one is perfect. Get it in the biggest container you can find, because you're probably going to want more, no matter how much you have.

Look. This stuff is alright- but don't believe the hype. It has a light menthol (compared to Hedges or any WoS Menthol). The tobacco is fine. Much like the Poschl brand "Prise" line- it is easy to find and great for beginners due to ease of use.
I like "opinionated" snuff- snuff with balls. Give me something I haven't already had five times over. It tastes too similar to others I've tried. The character of this snuff does not separate it from the pack of other light menthols.

This is my Go to snuff. I absolutely love it. I use a ton of it, It has the best nicotine of any snuff i have had. I don think it is the strongest by any means but the nicotine buzz I get is unlike the others It is a different buzz. I think someone said it is a good Pub snuff. I don't drink as I am not of age and don't know the effects of alcohol but that would sort of be the feel it has a relaxed awareness. Makes me happy and energized sort of like after a 5k run. That is good. The snuff is relatively inexpensive and of good quality and is quite complex I cannot pin down the lemon that others talk of but it has something above and beyond the other menthols. It kind of clogs me up when I already have congestion but a good amount of NTSU will clear my sinuses nice and good for this wonderful blends. Overall it is perfect to take as it doesn't even come close to the back of my throat or anything like that and you can shove it up your nose like no other snuff. I would have to say it is the most user friendly snuff and if you are trying to get other people to try a snuff this is the one that will do the trick. I cant really speak higher about any other snuff. My personal favorite.

Dry and light, but still easy to take. Nice bit of menthol and camphor to it, with a touch of citrus as well. Personally, I find this to be my go to menthol, because it takes a fair amount to clog me, but also gets things flowing when I'm stuffed up.

Although I was born in Sheffield, this was the first snuff I ever took, more than twenty years ago. I've probably always had at least one tin in my possession ever since, and I honestly still don't know if I like it or not, alhtough I'd never argue with its excellence. The camphor and the menthol are nicely balanced, along with other spicy additions which are more difficult to pin down, hiding in the undertones of this snuff (a hint of cloves, maybe cardomom, some lemon, perhaps some lavender). O&G truly deserves the epithet "medicated": it has almost exactly the same scent as Vick's Vapo-rub, and almost exactly the same effect. It's not a snuff I necessarily enjoy taking, but it seems to relax and soothe, perhaps there's an aromatherapeutic effect from the mixture of essential oils. These days I use it intensively only when I have a cold, or when I have an urgent need to clear my sinuses, but it's still a snuff I try to ensure I'm never without, and I suspect that all long-time snuff users have at least one tin in their collection.

McChrystal's O&G is a nice moist fluffy snuff of fine grind that has a healthy dose of menthol and a fair amount of camphor with a nice lemon kicker. The lemon adds a dimension above and beyond the normal. I have been using a bit of Gawith Hoggarth CM, which I like, but this is better because of the lemon. It has about the same amount of menthol and a little less camphor than the GH offering, but the lemon makes it special.

I have finally had the opportunity to spend a few days with this snuff, and I echo the words of praise written by fellow reviewers. This is obviously a quality snuff, as are all of Mac Chrystals offerings in terms of grind and packaging.
Funny, I'm a real nicotine hound, and this one really sets me back on my heels a bit, which is a good thing. In fact, it hits me harder than Rooster or the various FUBAR products. Very, very satisfying snuff, easy to take, crisp menthol blast, and a lingering aftertaste of fine tobacco.
I see a lot of this in my future.

This is my all time favorite snuff, the one I always come back to. The menthol is fairly strong but not over-powering and the other flavors (camphor?) are mixed in perfect proportion. This is a snuff I can snuff all day, every day, and do so often. 5 stars.

I enjoyed Original & Genuine the first time I tried it, and since then it's been one of a few snuffs I have decided I don't want to be without. Simply a wonderful scent, a nice bit complex after the initial menthol-ish hit. It's especially good outside in the open air, you pick up quite a bit more depth that way. I like to start and end my day with this one.

Fein gemahlener, mentholisierter Snuff mit einem wunderbar ausgewogenen Kampher-Aroma. Es ist jedoch nicht nur das Zusammenspiel Menthol-Kampher-Tabak, sondern es liegt noch eine subtile Würze im Hintergrund, die sich extrem angenehm bemerkbar macht und diesen Snuff von anderen doch deutlich absetzt. Entwickelt beim Aufschupfen vom Handrücken sehr viel mehr Schärfe, als bei der Daumen-Zeigefinger Methode, bei der er milder wirkt. Hat beides seine Vorzüge.
Gut vorstellbar, dass viele Schnupfer keine andere Sorte als den O&G brauchen, denn er passt einfach zu allen Gemütslagen und Tageszeiten. Und geschmacklich ist er wirklich so gut, dass man eine Prise nach der anderen nehmen kann, bis eben die Dose leer ist. Kein Wechselbedürfnis. Wie bei fast allen McChrystals hält sich das Aroma allerdings nicht sehr lange in der Nase. Aber damit kann man gut leben.

McChrystals O&G was the first nasal snuff I ever tried and I still am as impressed as I was with the first pinch. The flavor and moisture content make this an excellent choice for a relatively new snuffer like myself and for a many a year snuffer also. I take a pinch every morning when I wake up for a refreshing boost with my coffee. Everyone agrees, O&G is a superb snuff!

I was not all that impressed with O&G. It's not that it is a bad snuff, but some people make it out to be the best snuff on the planet. To me it is just another menthol and camphor snuff. It is similar to Samuel Gawith Zip, but not nearly as good. Perhaps if I had tried O&G before I had heard how good it was, I might have liked it better. But I think all the anticipation of a magnificent snuff built up my anticipation and then was let down when I finally tried it.

I'm a big fan the O&G. Huge fan! Took some recently on a night out with the boys and due to the "No Inside Smoking" laws in AZ this became a hit. When everybody else dipped outside for a smoke break I brought out my O&G and just took a big whiff. One after another they all took some and all loved it. Eventually we went through my full little tin and that put a slight damper on the festivities. Of course one guy wanted to take a heroic portion and snorted it like it was a rail of Columbia's finest. He learned his lesson about moderation. This is my goto snuff when I need that wake-up call but it's too close to bedtime for some coffee.
We found out it also works great on the front tip of a ciggy.

Grind is similar is about the same as Wilson's Tom Buck I think. Not alot to add to the glowing reviews seen below. This is my Go-To snuff for a menthol. I have given myself a ringing headache over doing it with this stuff. My fault not the product of course. It just lends to the point how much I sniffed the crap outta this great stuff. I forgot to include this in my last order to my loss. I will buy this again for sure.Oh and the review that mentioned the price being too high i would concur.

My favourite snuff, and the one I would take to a desert island. Menthol, camphor and a blend of other aromas, refreshing, not overpowering, perfect grind and moisture, easy to snuff all day with no burn or sneeziness (but some nose run). I find the nicotine level to be high for an English snuff and would be perfect for anyone wishing to replace cigarettes with snuff.

I used to dislike menthol snuffs. Then about a week ago, I bought some of this. I cannot seem to get enough. I do some to open the lockers. Then a pinch of Three thistle. Wait a moment. Another pinch. WOW!. A good mixer. It seems you can do a hearty pinch without your brains exploding. It is mellow and smoooooth.

McC's O&G is mentholated and a class of its own. It tastes good and feels as if it was good for you too. I like its satisfying camphor main stage note. It is a classic, and for me it is never overindulging. It is very easy to take and has very-little-to-none nose burn. My lady likes it too. It achieved tenure in my collection. I find it a great way to start the day. I do not want to run out of this snuff. I decided to purchase this in bulk. Refreshing and unique, I highly recommend it.

This is the best snuff I've tried yet. It's got a nasally chilling menthol that really opens up the sinuses. The combination of the nicotine burn and the cooling menthol is just so sweet. This is definitely WAY better than Ozona President.

This being my first snuff to try, I am a little bit partial to it.
A very strong menthol hit that cleans out my nose no matter how stuffed up it is. I wish the menthol effect would last longer in my nose but this does the trick. Throat burn is intensified with the menthol but I suppose it also helps numb it. The fineness of this snuff is partly responsible.
It is as dry and as fine as I would want it to be, it feels like a powder and not like a grit.
Overall it is enjoyable and my regular daily snuff.

I really like this snuff.It WAS the only brand sold in my town.I have opened up my horizons and have been ordering online in hopes to find something similar to O.G. that doesnt clog my sinuses every 2-3 days.Menthol kick with total sinus clearing power,sweet after taste or after sniff In this case.I keep a steady order with Nicotinerush...I would say after all the other snuff's ithat I have tried...I keep coming back to O.G.My second best is President and I'm liking this Toque rasberry menthol...but I will keep trying the other brands.

I too fall on the side of the fans with this one. This is another menthol snuff that offers more than a mere icing of the senses. I really like that other indescribable aftertaste or background flavor in there, although I can see how some may not care for it due to it's strength. O & G got a spot in my rotation with the first sniff along with CoC for my daily menthol blasts. BTW, mine is pretty fine too with a bit of moisture for ease of snuffability.

I am not sure why this is rated as "medium" grind. I found my tin to be very fine - probably the only off putting thing about it. The aromas are pleasant and subtle but I do not know why it is so highly rated.

Great menthol snuff with something extra. What some people don't like, which I think is the camphor, is exactly what I love about this beauty. Subtler than Gletscher Prise (you can actually smell the tobacco), but has character. I'm tempted to give 4 stars because it always makes my nose stuffy, but I love it so much that I just don't care.

Very pleasant to take, but there is something 'medicinal' that puts me off after a time. A beginner would probably enjoy this, and maybe continue with it, I may even go back to it as I am a bit of a novice myself.

In my mind this is the pinnacle of mentholated snuffs. Upon opening the tin you are greeted by a complex aroma that doesn't simply bombard you with menthol. Likewise in the nose the flavour is very complex with a perfect blend of camphor, menthol and tobacco. I experienced absolutely no harsh menthol burn in the nose with this snuff as i did with J&H Wilson's Medicated No99. This is a snuff i can't imagine ever growing tired of and would be at the top of my list of recommend snuffs for newcomers. My only problem with this snuff is that it tends to clog up my nasal passages if i use it more than a couple of times a day however i find this with all mentholated snuffs. Even so i could never give this anything less than five stars!

Along with Hedges L260, one of the grand daddies of menthol snuffs. Love or hate menthol in your snuff this still has to be appreciated as a great English snuff and probably responsible for lots of converts over the years. Strong, dark and distinctive and - rare with menthol snuffs - it has a flavour that doesn't just come from a bucket of menthol dumped into the blend.

For me, this is top of the line when it comes to mentholated snuffs. I have been a fan of O&G for a pretty long while now and use it as the bar to measure all other menthols. I have been through A LOT of these tins. It is not overpowering, and sits in the nose very well. Relaxing and refreshing are the two best words to describe it for me. This is always the first tin I reach for when I need that menthol fix, and usually have a tin on hand when I am out and about more times than not.

I agree with trout there is a horrid back scent that ruins this one for me. It also seems very plain to me and to be the most medicore menthol I've ever tried maybe I got a bum tin but I really don't see the appeal. I'd take any wilsons menthol over this any day or president.

Absolutely did not care for this one. Has too much of an unenjoyable odd scent to use. Took over a year to use up the 8 gram tin. Mainly used it for mixing. This is the favorite of a lot of menthol snuff lovers. I think its all power of suggestion.

One of the best snuff on the market! I can't tell you how much I love this snuff. This is the only snuff I own that I keep buying the second I run out. It is a moist, medium grind, and very fluffy snuff. It is menthol flavored with a great tobacco base. It is different then other menthol snuffs like WoS SM Blue, SM Brown in that it doesn't hit you as so cold as those two. It just all works together perfectly and I plan to never be without! Go out and try it now!

I love the combination of menthol and camphor in O&G. Medium-fine and medium moist, the menthol fades quickly leaving a wonderful mix of tobacco and camphor flavours. It's definitely my favourite menthol snuff, or rather, it's the only one I use regularly. I seem to go through plenty of it!

its taste is of menthol and eucalyptus. once these tastes fade, there remains a mild and satisfying tobacco aroma. a bit leathery i find.
one of the best non-sweet menthol snuffs.
but i think it is overpriced.

This is the best "start-up" snuff for me!! First thing in the morning, last pinch at bedtime and the only snuff I take during the night, when I wake up to go for a leak. I never want to be without it.
You wanna know whether someone is a serious snuffer?? Check whether he/she have some O&G in their collection. If not, something is wrong. This is the most forgiving snuff I know, you can't overdo things by taking to big a pinch. Any time of the day snuff, morning, noon or night, any time is right. It opens my eyes in the morning and close it at night. I LOVE SNUFF

Medium grind,medium moisture when fresh but still pretty tasty even when dried out,this is the only menthol/medicated I like other than Dholakia blue.Menthol and eucalyptus I think.Whatever it is I knew I didnt ever want to be without this snuff from my first pinch.5 stars!
