I agree with the reviews below. No trace of orange at all. And it dries out before you can get your snuff hankie out of your pocket! I think this may have to do with those ridiculous boxes it comes in. When a box has no less than two sources of air-inlet, it's bound to go dry in a second! I found that decanting it into little plastic zipper bags solved the problem. When my snuff dries out, I use 2 small slices of fresh cucumber - in with the tobacco in an air tight container (formerly used for ice cream :o) for about a day - fresh, moist snuff again. I like the tobacco base of this snuff very much, and it delivers a good satisfying pinch, and is one of those tobaccos I wish I could get in bulk!

Judging by the other reviews this one is rather a "hit and miss" affair. I can't imagine mine was more than a few months old when purchased, but I get no trace of orange. As also noted it dries out rather quickly. After rehydrating it was properly moist again, but within a day it was quite dry. The grind is somewhat finer than the Ao 1860 & A/P, which perhaps is the cause. Its not bad without orange flavor, just smokey and plain. Still, if I wanted a plain Latakia, the 1860 is much better. I'll give this one more chance (ordering fresh from the mill) but if it doesn't impress me after that, I will be writing it off.

It was mentioned, that the orange flavour fades quite fast, and it shouldn´t be store too long for this reason. Well, though I have this for about 6 months, the orange flavour is still here and it adds nicely to the Latakia AO tobacco used here. But as the tobacco is so heavy and deep in its flavour, it´s a bit hard to tell how strong the orange is supposed to be. In my version it´s clearly subsided by the Latakia, so "only" adds some diversity to this fantastic tobacco. I only feel that orange is not the best companion for this dark and heavy tobacco...

This is an interesting snuff. I got a sample of the first Latakia snuffs produced by this company several years ago. I don't get much orange flavor out of this one but that's OK as the Latakia base is very good in it's own right. It has just a bit of a sting when first snuffed and can sometimes slip back out of your nose due to the coarse grind. Nontheless, i find it a tasty addition to my humidor and give it 4 stars.

Mine was straight from the mill and it was like a fresh shpritz of orange. Really delightful with a beautiful foundation of most excellent latakia. Another unusual and excellent blend, from DeK.

The De Kralingse Oranje has as its base tobacco the most excellent Latakia AO 1860. That, coupled with a gentle orange/citrus tone makes this an excellent snuff. I have found that the orange flavour fades quite quickly in the container so this is a snuff best bought in small quantities and used fresh. It's a very dark brown colour, medium coarse grind and moderately moist, though it does tend to dry out quickly.

Another of the fine Latakia based DeKralingse snuffs. When this snuff is fresh the orange scent is fairly strong and briefly competes with the smokey latakia tobacco for dominance. The orange subsides a bit and the latakia takes over in spectacular fashion that is a joy on the nose. A very pinchable and addicting snuff for latakia lovers. I have noticed quite a few reviews of this and some of the other DeKralingse snuffs being dry or slight in the flavorings. I truly believe they must have gotten some old batches that have been stored improperly by the distributer. All of the DeKralingse snuffs in my collection are slightly moist and when fresh has a bright, distinct burst of flavoring followed by the tobacco coming to the front soon after.
Highly recommend to lovers of Latakia.

On the strength of both this and 1860 plain I have ordered the A/P. Hope it has more scent of pine than this one does of orange. Love the latakia though!

Good, but not a lot different from the Latakia 1860 plain. Orange scent elusive

A pretty enjoyable snuff when small pinches are used. The orange isn't a stand out orange but more like the scent of the oils you get when you squeeze an orange peel. Medium/course, medium moisture.

Great tobacco! See the 1860 review. The addition of orange sounds fantastic but was found to be elusive. It may be that I had some old stock. The snuff still had some very interesting nuances. I will be revisiting.
