The plain Chakali is one of the best snuffs around. But mixed with Menthol, though not excessively so, didn´t lead to a snuff which I can enjoy as much as the plain one. Most of the plain tobacco flavour is masked in a way that I can hardly receive it. The little that I can get is gone in a few seconds. Well, the Chakali Cool is at least quite potent in nicotine. And it takes a bit technique in taking it, as the grind indeed is quite fine, comparable to US Scotch snuffs.
All in all it´s just a worse version to the excellent Chakali plain snuff.

Slightly mentholated, good mint taste. Standard Dholakia base. Not entirely unlike a Newport cigarette (except it doesn't make me sick!)

I'm not big on menthols, they have their time and place, but I can't use them all the time. At least thats what I thought until I tried Sparrow Cool. Unlike Poschl's(or other English menthols), the menthol is very light and is in fact just, cool. Added onto the wonderful Sparrow tobacco, which is buttery and nutty, this makes for a great snuff. Dholakia really knows what they're doing.

This is the same plain snuff as Sparrow green label but with a dose of menthol. The same nutty flavor is present, but the menthol does indeed cool off the fire that regular Sparrow can hit you with. The menthol is lightly added compared to many English and German menthols. Indians seem to blend menthol into snuff as more of an enhancement. However, this is not something for a novice. It is very fine and dry like Sparrow Green. It can hit very sharply and is easy to oversniff. Avoid the bullets that this is often sold in, as they will only exacerbate this problem. Learn how to control your snuff by mastering both your nose control and your pinching tenchnique and you will enjoy this.

As a person who smoked menthol cigarettes exclusively when I was a full time smoker, you'd think I'd have a field day getting into snuffs, with all of the mentholated and medicated varieties out there. But most all of them are quite over-mentholated for all day use, and tend to dry out the sinuses even with infrequent use. Dholakia Sparrow is one of the few exceptions. The light, slightly exotic tobacco flavor is upfront, and hits with a huge, satisfying burn, and the menthol comes as kind of like an afterthought, leaving a rich, powerful slightly woody tobacco sensation with a slight cooling affect. This, for me, is the equivalent of the sensation of smoking the kinds of full strength menthol cigarettes I liked, except with an even stronger nicotine hit. If you are trying to quit menthol cigarattes, which can be tougher than quitting regular flavored brands, you really must give this a try. I keep massive quantities of this on hand; it's uncompicated, powerful, unlike any of the heavier, far more mentholated English or German Menthols that I've tried, and completely satisfying. Very fine, dry grind, but easier to take than the fearsome Dholakia White.

Fine grind comparable to american dry snuff, the mentholated flavor is very subtle, the nicotine seems noticeable but not great, this is a very pleasant snuff the smells seems to linger for a while, the only negative thing I have to say about it is I wish the grind was little coarser because it's pretty easy to over inhale.

A very nice snuff. The nicotine was not as high as I had been led to believe by some of the reviews but certainly respectable.

This snuff is Sparrow with a touch of added menthol. The menthol is added sparingly, and makes this a unique snuff on its own! Definitely worth a try!

Dholakia Sparrow Cool. This is one of my favorite snuffs. It's very unique with the tobacco flavor, and the cool menthol. It's not like a Euro-style menthol at all. It's also a very fine, light brown color. It's a super fine grind and one must sniff with care. But once one gets it down, it's very good. I can sniff this one alot.

Holy God, this is strong! I just did an ordinary sized toot and I thought my eardrums were going to pop! Handle with care - but DO handle it, because it's actually rather good. As noted, a light hand has added the menthol to this one and so it's a very high & dry, lightly mentholated, straight-tobacco snuff with bells on. Way stronger than, say, Toque Quit. I got this free as a sample from Dholakia (thank you very much!) in a little hand-sewn cloth packet from India with my address written on the cloth in ink from a fountain pen - unique! The snuff came in a little plastic tube with some artwork on the label that very seriously needs revising: it looks at first sight like a dog's deposit - and then you look closer and see - ah! - it's a brown tobacco leaf! This is a nice snuff and it deserves some better art on the label, I'd say.

This grind is pretty close to Garrett Dry Scotch so quite fine. Lightly scently more tobbaco than anything else my wife whose orafactory function exceeds mine agreed. Small pinch stuff for me common enough for fine ground. If you like dry and fine ground then this would be good but I will not order it again.

It's a very fine, dry snuff with a straight tobacco scent with just enough menthol to cool the nostrils when you take it. It has quite a nice nicotine kick and I've been using it like crazy since I've got it. Good stuff.

I love Chakali Blue. It was the first Indian snuff I ever tried, and the first dry snuff I ever tried. The menthol is there but not overdone, and for me the classic tobacco flavors emerge and linger for a long time. Plus the dryness gives it a decent fast kick.

Fine grind, dry and light brown. This one has quite a kick! Essentially it is the Chakali Green with added menthol. At least the menthol has been added sparingly otherwise this would have got only 1 or 2 stars from me, not being too keen on menthol snuffs.

I'm finding Dholakia's Eastern styled snuffs unique and interesting interpretations and for the most part, quite nice. This is no exception; an extra fine, dry grind that's reminiscent of the American Scotchs in body and feel, and just a bit of a challenge. The flavor is unmistakably Dholakia though and the taste and quality of the tobacco shines through exceptionally well. Not exactly a beginner friendly grind but once accustomed this is one satisfying snuff and worth the effort. Sparrow's cool blast fades quickly to the excellent cigar-ish tobacco notes underneath but the whole experience is somewhat short lived. A totally unique menthol blend that's about halfway between the exotic and more familiar styles while keeping that unmistakable Dholakia character about it. Great stuff that's easy to get carried away with.

A cool twist to the Sparrow tobacco. The scent of Sparrow wich is a good cigar scent comes through in the cool. Albeit not cool enough for me. If I'm going to Menthol. Then I want it hard. Not some hint that doesn't make my nose run but swells the glands anyway. But you know I've been spoiled by Poschl and Wilsons. Maybe I'll give the bullet another go around since this stuff is a super fine fluffy dust.

As with others of their brands, Dholakia have got the light touch with the menthol off to perfection, enough for the menthol fan, but not too much to put off those snuffers who aren't too keen on menthol.
Good tobacco taste not overwhelmed by the menthol, and a decent nicotine hit. An all day snuff for some.

When I requested for my samples, I assured Dholakia I would be able to give them well thought out, respectable reviews. I hope that this review stays within that line. Bluntly, I probably will never buy this snuff. I may. I have not finished the bottle yet, which I will do. This snuff hits hard, and definitely satisfies, but it really tastes weird. I think this is just because of my personal unfamiliarity with the flavoring. I will take a snuff and immediately like how it tastes, but then after a few minutes, I am grossed out with a smell that reminds me of enclosed areas at playgrounds when I was a kid. This smell then fades, and I again am filled with the unique original flavor, with an undertone of the bad smell. It is not for me, but I can definitely see how someone with a different taste can come to appreciate this snuff.

This snuff has given me problems. It is very hard for me to take, I don't know why. Maybe I am not quite ready to take this snuff, but based on the other dholakias I will keep trying till I get it. Every time I try to sniff this I get a bad reaction and it makes no sense to me. I believe it is not that much different from the other dholakia's. I just can't tell though. I do believe it is a probably a good snuff though but I can only give it 3 stars for now.
And the story continues: So if you asked me when I first reviewed this snuff if I thought I could ever or would ever make it through the sample. I would have said probably not, but what is the second (out of the new lines) to be finished after the She? Yep it's the sparrow cool. How I don't know. It seems to me the snuff changed a little as it got a little older plus I refined my technique for it. I really have come to enjoy the robust tobacco flavor, smattering of menthol and the nicotine hit as well. So all I can say is if at first you don't succeed try try again you may just be rewarded. And now I am awarding it the coveted 5 stars.

There are very few menthol snuffs that have a distinctive flavour and even less that have the menthol applied with a light touch. Most blow your head off and taste of precisely nothing. The Sparrow cool is great because it has a distinctive sweet taste and the menthol is there, but lightly. As a non menthol user this will be a regular for me from now on. The Dholakia range just gets better..

Extra fine, extra dry. Don't let the Blue/Cool name fool you, as this is at the front a straight, quality tobacco flavor first and foremost with just a hint of menthol. Using the Sparrow green as a base and adding just enough menthol for you to know it is there but not take anything away from the original tobacco scent. I would probably recommend this one to the more advanced snuff taker, as it's extra fine grind can be problematic for the beginner. Overall a very nice snuff.

I’m just going to be straight forward about Sparrow Cool, because I’m none to be pretty blunt. I like something I’ll tell you. If I don’t like it I tell you that as well. Sparrow Cool I have no idea what it’s made from or what’s in it other then the supple menthol & the finely ground quality tobacco. Then there’s an exquisite, yet exotic flavor. Both conforming into a very exotic scent that is distinct but unrecognizable to me. I’m not into floral snuff, but this one has me puzzled. I do know this I’m really enjoying it. Don’t quote me, but I think I’m picking up a slight hint of something similar to sandalwood. If that’s what it is behind the menthol excellent job Dholakia. Never the less it’s a wonderful snuff. Not over powering at all. I’ve learn while trying the different Dholakia snuff products that it’s not always the strongest snuff that is the best. But the subtle snuffs can be a unique and pleasurable experience. I can see myself having a pinch of Sparrow Cool just before meditation. It is the finest ground, driest, and lightest in weight snuff I have ever used. So I’d suggest sniff lightly, otherwise it will easily hit the back of your throat.

Call this a Menthol? Well, it's brown, very dry, and fine. A touch of menthol is all this one has, but a beautiful scent it is! This one does not overpower your nasal passages with eye watering effect. It's a decent snuff that can be used daily, however, do sniff carefully as I found this too be very fine; perhaps just finer than what I am used to. I am still a novice with these fine grind snuffs, but this one was enjoyable. I wouldn't say this was the best I've had, but it's nice to see that someone has finally made a menthol snuff that wasn't overpowering or tear inducing, but still maintaining a delicious aroma with enough of a menthol scent to give you a slight kick and pick me up at any time of day.

Sparrow Blue is exactly Sparrow with a perfect amount of added menthol. The regular sparrow has a very strong taste to it and with the added menthol takes it down to a perfect level. I really enjoy sparrow blue.
