Well...lots of people like this one...but...to me it smells like scented tampons. I tried to like it, and all the other reviews are spot-on, but its too much for me. Like incense, musk, rose, and stuff like that? You'll love it. Good kick, and the scent last awhile.

Has a slight tendency to stick together (though not as much as most other finely ground Indian snuffs), so I´d call it medium moist. That moisture makes it far better consumable, than a drier state would. Shouldn´t be too challenging for newcomers.
The flavour is complex, though the totally outstanding main actor is Rose. But there´s something slightly dark and deep about it, which come from Musk, Sandalwood or both or something different, I just can´t really detect it clearly. But the effect and taste is great, long lasting and exotic (that´s if you´re not from India). But although it´s all that, it´s by far not overwhelming. The dosage is perfect imo. The tobacco taste is completely masked, though. But then there are plain snuffs for that.

It says on the package "Gulab and Kasturi blended". Gulab means rose, and Kasturi means musk in Hindi(at least according to Google). I'm not too sure I sense any musk in here though. A spicy, rose/floral and citric blend for sure though. Maybe Namrata will come in here and clarify for us all. A long lasting scent with a medium/high nic hit. A little too potent for me to use all the time, but a wonderful experience to use on occasion.

Ganga, named for the sacred Ganges River is unmistakably Indian. I quite enjoy these highly fragrant incence type Indian snuffs. This one is floral, but nothing like an English style floral. One or two Indian snuffs must be sampled in one's snuffing career to broaden one's palate. The scents I am getting are powerfully rose, and something citric, perhaps lemon. There also seems to be a slight sandalwood undertone. Its rather fine and dry, so should be handled with care. The scent is very long lasting.

A very lovely floral that stays in the nose, lingering. Enjoyable and pleasant.

Wow! I really love this snuff. It has a wonderful rose scent with a hint of sandalwood and some type of spice. Its a very relaxing and soothing scent. Take care not to snuff to hard as it will hit the throat. The scent lasts and lasts but is not overpowering.
I recommend this snuff to any floral scent lover.

I absolutely LOVE this snuff. If you don't like the smell of roses, (I don't know anyone who doesn't) you should probably stay at least 10 feet away from a can of Ganga as the scent is about as strong as any I have found in a snuff. Only McChrystal's Clove is stronger. Although it is definitely not for beginners, once you get your technique down, I'm sure you'll fall in love with it too.

A lovely snuff - very perfumed, not just of rose but there's something unmistakably 'Indian' about it. Once I'd refined my snuffing technique (it can burn and set your eyes to watering like a mofo) I found it very calming and relaxing somehow. Long lasting in the nose, it can be a bit messy to handle but is worth persevering with.

I can't really deal with the perfumy scents of this one. It smells pleasant enough, but I can't deal with this being in my nose.

This is another stuff that I have revisited after initial less-than-favourable impressions and I am glad that I did. While it is unlikely to ever become a favourite of mine, I now find that there are times that I can really enjoy this one. The rose and sandalwood scent I get from it is good and long lasting with a nice clean blow later on. It is a scent that is easily revitalised in the nose with a step outside into the cool of the night. Satisfying!

The Ganga cool is a one of a kind experience and highly fragrant, very
pleasing snuff with many nice exotic flavors. The closest thing I can compare this with is a combination between your favorite incense and a freshly shaven bar of Ivory soap! EXTREMELY PRAISEWORTHY snuff.. If you take a pinch right about the time your pastor is beginning his sermon, you will still be able to enjoy the everlasting flavor that this one provides. There are 2 others from this unique and wonderful establishment that I actually enjoy almost as much but You must try these for yourself to really appreciate them. I pretty much just saved myself a plane ticket to India thanks to Dholakia's fine products. 9.5 nostrils.
Happy Holidays and a good 2009,
~Myche

Similar to the Kamal but Ganga is a rose only. Hard to clear strong tampon scented snuff. I like floral snuffs for bedtime. This one sits well and the scent lasts forever. I just followed it with Brunswick, a thick citrus geranium scent. Nice combo. I'm thinking a Scotch Rose mix might be nice. Maybe Rooster/Ganga? The scents from Dholakia are very exotic. Not something that I could handle all day but for an ocasional pinch they provide quite an experience. Thank you Namrata for all the samples.

Certainly a WOW factor as I first tried it, not knowing what to expect. Took rather a large pinch and paid the price in my right eye! With more careful use this is a lovely snuff.
I am not too keen on floral snuffs, but I have to make an exception for this, if only for the long lingering aroma which even makes my hanky smell pleasant. Rose is the main aroma but there is something else rather woody which I can't really identify.
Not an all day snuff if you are not into florals, but when at home you may find yourself 'pinching' quite often

wow. this is strange stuff.
it comes in a small plastic bag in obviously indian design. so far i like it.
even out of the closed bag you get a faint smell of roses, as in rose water or these indian rose-oil lotions. intense but not bad. raises memories of my father using rose-oil lotions (he is a huge india fan).
the powder is very fine and dry, so i do not find it easy to take. and i take it only in small doses as it is so strongly scented.
in the nose it is the same rosy smell. sweet and rose like. perfumy. overwhelmingly strong. on some days it is great on others i hate it.
even rooms you snuff in will have a rosy smell. perfect for masking odours.
strange but lovely.
a truly characterful snuff.

Heavily floral rose scented snuff, very fine dry grind. I am usually not a big fan of floral snuffs, but for some reason this one seems to have an aromatherapy kind of feel to it. Very soothing, and if you take a few pinches while visiting the www.snuff.co.in website with your speakers turned up a bit you can achieve an almost zen like state with the hauntingly beautiful music playing there. The scent stays with you nicely for a good while. Overall a great snuff when you just want to relax and take your mind away to place a bit more serene.

A lot of the Dholakia snuffs, for me personally, are like rich deserts. Delicious and, after a great meal, perfect. Ganga is like that: sweet and floral. You might not have it as an all day snuff but in the right setting this would be a treat indeed. I find that it complements robust red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon; the sweetness balancing out the heavy tannin of the wine. This a is a great snuff to pass around the dinner table and could easily win over a non-snuffer, in the right setting and following the right menu.

Dholakia Ganga is a floral snuff, but I did find it very interesting. It’s mildly scented not one that just takes your breath away. This would definitely be a favorite with the females and some men. It smells so good I wish the scent was captured in a perfume bottle. I think that’s what really got me caught up in this snuff. I would love to smell this on myself. It’s a very erotic scent to the point I’m hooked on just smelling the aroma from the bag. Like the others it is a fine ground snuff that is dry. It ‘s a little stronger in the scent area then Kamal. The flavor and scent last a long time in the nasal passage.

I am not big on perfumed snuffs and this one is exactly that. It is very heavily perfumed, with flavors I cant describe as anything other then a woman's perfume. If your into that kind of snuff you will love this but if your like me stay away.

Very heavy perfumed snuff. Its a very pleasant scent that lasts all day in the nose and also makes the handkerchief smell nice. Extra fine & dry.
