Like your grandmothers perfume. Very strong!

These highly perfumed Indian snuffs are not for everyone. I happen to like them on occasion. They are very powerful in scents and can be overpowering. Kamal, I have learned, is Hindi for "Lotus flower." This is clearly floral. It has a strong rose scent, not unlike Ganga, but in this case the rose scent much more balanced by the addition of musk essence. It gives a bit of a more relaxing and also invigorating feeling. The fine grind also gives this a decent punch, and the flavor is long lasting. These snuffs are best kept in isolation, away from things they might contaminate.

I got this snuff as a sample. This was exactly as if somebody had squirted a very large dose of my older sister's 1970's 'rose petal ' type perfume up my nose. I couldn't even leave it sitting in a smash-box on an open shelf by other snuffs (for fear just sitting there it would contaminate the others). It eventually (in short order actually) bothered me enough even just sitting there that I threw it away (and then even tough it wasn't in there very long, really had a heck of a time getting the rose smell washed out of and getting it to leave the smash-box). Actually opening the thing and putting this stuff in my nose and tormenting myself more than a few times was just not something I was going to do and it was so strong there was no way to even salvage it for mixing (it would overpower and ruin anything I tried to put with it), it was taking space and a container I needed, so now its gone. of all the Indian snuffs I have tried to far (I really like most everything else) this was the worst, and possibly the most overly-scented of any snuff I have ever tried (and that includes a lot of painfully over-scented things). Now its sitting in the trashcan (where at least it can make itself useful by acting like an overgrown trashcan rose air freshener). Zero stars here.

Quite a fine grind really and has to be taken with some caution, as it might easily go too far up. The mixture is excellent, most dominant are rose and musk, but there seem to be a few other flavours inside which give this a very oriental appeal. Well, it´s just delightful. The musk adding a bit of darkness, which is balanced by the other flavours. Good nic hit, too! Light brown in colour, the tobacco flavour is masked by the other heavy flavourings. Very long lasting.

I bought this snuff on a whim and I'm glad I did. It has a lovely rose and musk scent which lasts in the nose for ages. Nicotine hit is quite high. Don't think I could use this as an all day snuff it strike me as a late afternoon evening snuff. Very good.

Dholakia describes Kamal's flavor as "rose and musk." This is a very fine snuff, significantly dry and care must be taken when administered nasally for maximum enjoyment. I considered this a powerfully aromatic snuff, pleasant and lasting. In India it is taken orally, and I have tried it that way. I confess that I enjoy it more when taking it in a combination of “sniff and tongue.” Orally, I can taste the rose flavor more distinguishably. I recommend this snuff for those who want to experience exotic snuffs with a liking of incense-like flavor.

I just have to re-review this snuff. My first review was based on a small sample that I used up quite quickly. However, with such a complicated snuff as this I think you have to live with it a good while before you can really get to know its complexeties. For no particular reason I recently found myself purchasing a large cannister of this and have now used it daily for some considerable time. Firstly, I have upped its score, second, I stand by everything I said in the first review. But...when you start to use it on a regular basis its amazing how you get used to its fiery richness and start to really appreciate what has to be one of the most singular snuffs on the market. Kamal is insanely spicy and massively potent to take; just about anyone, however long they had snuffed would have watering eyes upon first taking this and I first thought that it could only be an occasional pinch type snuff However, after using it exclusively for a couple of weeks I found that it really was possible to love this snuff for all of the qualities I have mentioned; it is fiery and potent but its also beautiful, relaxing and truly fascinating. The affair goes on.....

Too flowery and strong scented for me. Can't handle it.

Rose and musk together make a good combination and this snuff is still growing on me. It's fine and dry so it isn't one to take a hearty snort of (unless you're into that!) but taken carefully it provides a very satisfying lift.

This snuff makes me think about Namrata!! Flowers, especially roses, beautiful ladies, the Far East, all comes to mind when I have this wonderful snuff up my nose. I take a small pinch every day. The aroma is long lasting and delicious and it's an easy snuff to take. But, beware, do not mistreat this snuff as it will take revenge!! A SMALL pinch at a time is all you need.

Two words sum up this highly flavored and aromatic snuff from Dholakia; What the... ! That was my impression after the first sniff, and still it catches me by surprise after much more familiarity with it. This is nothing like I've ever had the pleasure of tasting before, however the whole of it is very familiar. The magic of the snuff is being able to taste the tobacco through the highly charged veil of aromas, but it's there too. I wasn't sure I liked it at all upon first sniff and was nearly offended immediately following my first sniff. This is not a snuff to be taken lightly, shortly after I just had to have another sniff to verify what I just experienced. Again my senses were leveled, but some subtleties became apparent, and it began. Rose oil, strong musk and a multitude of exotic spices blended to one fascinating experience. The flavors are warm and inviting, but challenging. One sniff leads to another, then another. The reward is great; this is a full strength snuff that rivals in satisfaction the HDT's and Scotch's. I haven't gone a day since my first sniff without a visit and will always have this most satisfying of snuffs in my repertoire. One snuff that inspires excitement and even reticence before my first of the day, and always gratitude and a craving for the next. I can't see outdoing this in it's class, but I can't think of another in it's class. This is truly a one of a kind and I'm thankful for the bold creativity in it's making and availability.

Taking a pinch of this snuff is a massive sensory attack. I'm a very seasoned snuffer but it took me way by surprise when my first pinch was slightly too big as it is very penetrating. Once you get the hang of the right pinch size for you, its a real pleasure. Intense, sweet and incense like. I can't imagine having much more than the odd pinch but I'm very happy to have this in my collection. Overall, since getting to know Dholakia snuff through Namarata's generous samples I have been staggered by the fabulous quality of the range and its now a daily part of my rotation.

As with Ganga the flavour lasts and lasts. Much too good and exotic to be used frequently, but the rose and musk aroma keeps tempting you back, and if you are a snuff 'pincher' its better to wash your hands before trying something else, as the scent is all pervading.

Hmm, What to say about Kamal. A fine dry powdered snuff that is heavily perfumed with the scent of roses. Has a good clearing effect on the nose and seems to have a rather strong nicotine hit. At first the scent was a little to strng for my uninitiated nose. But after going back to it a couple days later found it to be quite nice. I am not sure if it mellowed or I got tougher. I can now use this alot throughout the day. Very agreeable to the nose fore a fine perfumed snuff. Most important thing if it seems a bit much at first go back to it later as you may be surprised how much you enjoy it as I do.

This is another of Dholakia's delicate floral scented snuffs in what I like to call their aromatherapy line. Like the Ganga, this one is very relaxing and heavily scented with rose and musk. The scent lasts and lasts. This is an occasional snuff for me, but when I do pick it up, I enjoy it very much. High quality snuff that greatly enhances those occasions when you just want to kick back and relax.

A deep, spicy, almost incense like quality is the main characteristic of this fabulous snuff. When I filled my snuff box with this and sampled the aroma before taking a pinch, the scent I got instantly reminded me of being in an Indian temple. The first pinch revealed that this is a snuff to be treated with respect as it is strong and almost dusty in body with an intense sweetness. I will keep a box filled with this for my after dinner pinch, but it is so rich that more than the occasional pinch would be sensory overload. A great snuff.

If you read some of my other post(reviews) you know I’m not a fan of floral snuffs. So this snuff had a brick wall to break down and not a fair chance with me. It’s not a bad snuff at all, and to tell the truth. It reminds me of Nag Champa a little, which my roommate and a friend who caught the tail of the 60’s loved. Taking them back to the day of free love, the music of that time, and etc……. They really loved this snuff beyond my belief and they are male. It’s a really find ground snuff to the point of powder. The flavor last for a long time, you do not have to keep sniffing it. You can walk outside 30 to 45 minutes later and the fresh air revives the scent. If you like Nag Champa or miss the 60’s this snuff will bring a smile to your face. Don’t be surprised if some of those wild moments in time chilling at someone pad or being with a special woman comes to mind. Because the boys went to talking about those wild escaped to me. SHOCKED!!!

This is my favorite of all the Dholakia snuffs. Very enjoyable scent of rose & musk that lasts a very long time. Gives the handkerchief a nice scent. Extra fine & dry.

Very perfumed! Something like Musk with a nice warm Rose base. Extra fine. Somewhat fluffy. Very exotic with a feeling of the far east.
