Nice subtle bergamot scent with another citrus going on, probably lemon. Slight nose burn. Its good, but there are better SP's out there.

Same basic grind as most Gawith Hoggarths. It might be a bit finer. The scenting is nice. The tradtional bergamot is there and is complimented by some lemon. Its true there are much better SPs on the market, and this one gets overshadowed by them. Its a good snuff and probably one I'd get again at some point. Best when fresh, since what remains in this awful tap-out box has gotten rather dry and burning. Next time I must get the 25g mini-drum which looks like it seals much better.

Medium brown, dry and of medium grind, this snuff is an excellent example of a traditional English SP. Nutty, straw-like tobacco aroma is there in spades, with a subtle bergamot aroma, and a long slightly leathery finish. There is virtually no nose burn in my sample, suggesting it must be good and fresh, and it is very moreish. An all day, everyday snuff if ever there was one, although some may prefer more heavily scented examples. 9/10.

I had stayed away from Gawith Hoggarth snuff due to reading so many negative opinions but having taken the plunge i'm glad i did. There is no doubt that this is not the best SP in the world but i like it a lot.
The usual SP scent is there but it is the nature of this snuff that i really like, it is as close to american snuff as english snuff gets its dry fine and burns like the devil. I will be keeping this one in as it has character in spades. I don't feel this one is suitable if you are new to snuff but to everyone else try it an make up your own mind.

It´s never nice to be ungratefull about gifts, but I´d be a miserable lier to say something good about this one.
First thing you notice is, to say it with Johnny Cash´s words "It burns, burns, burns"... in an unpleasant way.
The flavouring, which ought to be bergamot and lemon is light like a feather and not really recognisable, but somehow, this smells a bit more like... cheese!
Nah, sorry, but from a SP I expect something else than Snuff Parmesan.
Time for a nose showering.

Nice, plain SP, as said typical of its type. The mill reminds me of a Toque type base and there is a decent flavour to the tobacco. That said, other companies do this type much better. I was given mine as a gift and in all honesty would be unlikely to go out of my way to get more.

If you've had any GH snuffs, and a few SP's this is exactly what you would think a GH SP would be. It burns like hell, but has a nice bergamot flavor to it. Although I would not place it as the top GH or SP snuffs available, it is still quite nice.

A fair example of the type, though I think there are better SPs out there. It's fine and fairly dry and the bergamot/citrus flavouring is quite light.
