Quite fine and dry by comparison with German snuffs. The label tells me (in German) that this is "finest armomatized". Well it does have an odd aroma, I don't know about "fine." Somewhat piney with a hint of citrus, somewhat musty. Maybe like a cheap dangly air freshener. Overall, I'm not impressed, but I can't say its totally awful either. I do find that it can be congesting.

Well, after reading Jarhog's scathing review, I was sufficiently intrigued - who doesn't want to snuff what seems to be a train-wreck (complete with roadkill!)? Unfortunately (or not), I hardly found this one as disagreeable as some of the American sweet scotches, or even altogether bad. The scent I get here is burning plastic - one of those occasional horrid scents that I can't help but sorta enjoy (though don't inhale real burning plastic - you'd be safer inhaling cigarette smoke!). It shares certain aspects with Latkia, at least inasmuch as it being more of a woodsy, "natural" flavor than a synthetic fruit/perfume. It might sound somewhat oxymoronic to label this as a "natural" flavor while at the same time comparing it to burning plastic, but there you have it. It's also the sneeziest snuff I have ever experienced - it doesn't sting like a dry toast might in an inexperienced nose, but it tickles and itches and almot burns, sorta like pepper. It's of the same consistency as pepper from a pepper shaker, in fact - just like the average Gawith Hoggarth. My chief complaint here has to be the packaging - getting the thing open might well cost you a fingernail. It's the same basic "flat rectangle" of Gawith Hoggarth, but the little "nub" is much fatter than the hole it goes in. At least it's tapered, so closing it is a much more simple process. Not an all-day snuff, not exactly a "must-buy", and the packaging is about as bad as it gets, but I've had worse.

I took this snuff after being familiar with Lotzbeck's Premium and Premium Mild. Although I found the Premium enjoyable, Perle (feinst aromatisiert) was a disappointment. I noticed that previous reviewers credit its moisture as medium or moist. Mine was dry, despite of a fairly tough-to-open lid. It was easy to take, provided a little nasal burn, and was somehow clogging after repeated taking. I found the flavor to be woodsy and stale, with little aroma. I realize that the state of my box might have not been ideal. Nonetheless, it has been the least desirable snuff that I have tried so far. The only way that I would try this one again is if it is guaranteed fresh. And then, I would rather try something new. I do not recommend this one.

Slightly floral and somewhat cloying with an overall smokiness. Dark brown, medium coarse and fairly moist. It's not one I would use every day.
