Very similar to Railroad Mills Scotch. It ranks about mid-range among Swisher/Helme Scotches. It has a touch more sweetness and flavor to it than some. Like Railroad Mills, it reflects the sweet scotches and seems to have even more of a moistness (relatively speaking!) and a carmel hint. It is slightly milder than RRM otherwise. I think I can safely reccomend this to a beginner that wants to start learning to handle the fine and dry potentcy of scotch snuffs, but for me personally I prefer the stronger ones now.

This is my first American snuff. I don't know if it had a lot of ammonia in it or what, but it left a strong smell like cat pee in my nose. I don't think I can bring myself to let it air out and try it again. Sort of like grinding up the contents of a litter box and snuffing it.
Edit: I let the container sit for a couple of months and the ammonia (cat pee smell) has evaporated. It is now a decent, though not spectacular snuff. It has a good nic hit. I am giving it two more stars. Edit again: Well, I have gone through most of a 1.15 oz tin of this stuff, and it really grows on you. Upping it to four stars.

Nope, sorry, I´m not convinced by this offering. I just don´t find too much of a particular flavour here. There´s a very faint smokieness (and even a little sweetness), but it´s gone very fast. Also, it seems not to be especially strong in nicotine. This can be easily chain pinched. Well, it´s not really a bad snuff, but I demand some kind of scent , else it would be a joke. The only disappointing US scotch so far.

A very nice scotch, not as smokey as some but still retains that BBQ aroma. Nice nic hit and easy to take (for a scotch), and as ermtony says, an excellent tobacco taste. I'd recommend this as a first scotch for those yet to try them.

Navy Plain Scotch Snuff is a good workhorse of an American scotch snuff. It's pale, fine and dry as it should be and has a relatively gentle smokiness to accompany the excellent tobacco base. Perhaps not as strong as some but well worth having on hand for regular use.

A nice mellow easy going scotch snuff. I would say its in the middle range of bbq smokiness. Easy on the nose and can be enjoyed all day. This would be a great scotch snuff for someone to try who has no prior experience with scotch snuffs because its not too robust & not too dull. A very 'easy to like' snuff of the scotch variety.
