Reviews for McChrystals S'nuff

This is an SP along the lines of Wilson's Tom Buck, in that it has quite a heavy dose of bergamot and is richer and darker than most SPs. The grind is also a bit courser than any of the other McChrystal's I have tried. I'd cofortably class it as medium aka demi-gros. I find it curious that it subtitles itself as "Smokers Blend" as it is quite normal in nicotine level. The heavy bergamot is its main feature. Quite good, and on par with Tom Buck as my favorite SP.

S'nuff is designed to help smokers quit. I doubt there will be many takers. It is a medium brown, fairly dry, almost tasteless snuff. It is so neutral it almost doesn't have a flavor. I don't know why some reviewers say it has bergamot. It doesn't. It is plain, fairly mild tobacco. This does make it suitable for one good purpose however. If you have a snuff with too much burn, flavor or scent, just add S'nuff and you will tone it down.

This is a strange snuff. The artwork is quite appealing, aiming at a soon to be ex-smoking audience. Well... I can´t really see how especially this kind of taste should help in quitting. It´s a very nice SP variation, with loads of bergamot. Quite nice! For sure there is no "smokieness" in this tin. And I don´t get too much of the nicotine, even after half a dozen of pinches. Maybe it´s all about nicotine tolerance, which is very individual, based on your behavior. Now, at least I don´t get an unusual nicotine boost from it. The moisture of this finely ground snuff is a bit tricky, it keeps sticking on your nose, forcing you to have a mirror nearby when sniffing it, or walk around with a bear nose. Which can be an improvement, of course. I like the additional bergamot in this snuff and I can imagine it´ll grow even more on me.

S'nuff is a medium grind with a slightly citrus flavor that only comes in 5 gram tins, which makes it kind of expensive compared to other snuffs of this type. It really doesn't do a lot for me and I probably won't re-order. This snuff is pretty similar to Wilson's Tom Buck, although I find I prefer the Wilson's version. 2 stars.

Medium to pale brown, medium grind and quite dry SP style snuff, with plenty of bergamot. Very similar to Wilsons of Sharrow Best SP, but with more flavour and nicotine. Reasonably easy to take, but may be sneezy for a beginner and can occasionally hit the throat. Nicotine levels are higher than other SPs I have tried. This snuff grows on me each time I go back to it. 8/10

This snuff is enjoyable but not much different to other SPs. Its burn is low to none. Fine grind, but easy to take. Citrus flavor, slightly floral. Reasonable introduction to non-medicated snuff without a lot of compromise. Small and handy tin.

A fairly moist, easy to sniff, medium strength SP snuff with a strong bergamot flavor. This snuff is somewhat of a disappointment to me considering McCrystals makes some of the finest blends I've had the pleasure of. Modest nicotine and relatively high moisture leaves me wondering how it's supposed to help burgeoning ex-smokers. I can think of several SPs off the top of my head that are more appealing than this one, and at lower prices. All in all, it is a pretty solid SP, just nothing special, in my humblest of opinions.

This was launched as a smokers blend snuff and I think it was suggested that the nicotine content was higher and the flavour closer to smoked tobacco. Neither are true as far as I can detect but this is still a pretty good, plain SP. Nothing outstanding, and not in the same league as say Toque original, but a good snuff none the less.

A good SP type snuff with bergamot/citrus flavours. Medium moist and somewhat finer than some, it has a good nicotine hit.

Mildly flavored Bergamot. Somewhat coarse but soft. Very easy to take. Not oily or sticky at all so keeping clean is easy. A good snuff to share for an introduction. Not as strong as expected but I feel that may be a good thing. Not a highly coveted snuff for me.
