Certainly a distinctive tobacco. Makes me think of a fire cured Kentucky. Something along the lines of a full bodied yet one noted heavy brown twist. Not a favorite of mine, seems a bit cloying. seems that It would make a good blending tobacco. If you are into plain snuffs, this is unique enough that you should give it a go.

Darkest in color of the "Crest" series. It is a reddish brown. Its also slightly moister and courser than the other two. The flavor is not as light either. Its somewhat richer and fuller. The gassy notes are gone and the wood notes are strongest. There is perhaps the mild aroma of wood smoke, but its subtle. I am reminded immediatley of Bernard's excellent Gekachelter Virginie Dunkel. I suspect these Crest snuffs all use the same Virgina tobacco, and then mature them and grind them differently. Quite good, but I prefer the Yellow and Blue Crests.

Reddish brown, medium grind and quite dry, this snuff shares the same pure tobacco flavour of the Yellow and Blue versions. The initial aroma is very similar to the Old Holborn and Drum hand-rolling tobaccos I used to smoke - earthy, biscuity, autumnal, old leaves and some smokiness. The aroma lingers for some time afterwards and has notes of their Irish D Original. Reasonably easy to take, with no nose burn, although occasionally it hits my throat. Nicotine levels moderate to high. 8/10.

Pours very easily from the container. Just as excellent as the blue and yellow crest snuffs. Natural tobacco, without additional flavourings, but it seems to be toasted, as it first resembles the Irish D Light in flavour, but with a bit more pronounced smokiness. Very tasty.

Red-brown, medium mill and medium dry. Natural tobacco, earthy and rich, with the slightest of other scents. Good nicotine.
