I'm led to understand that all SG snuff in their SP class are available as both plain and scented versions. My little box does not specify either, so I will presume it is plain unless I learn otherwise. Its not moist as the SG website says. I would say its medium moisture for its grind, which is fine. Its very lightly scented. To me, it seems to be an unscented or largely toned-down verison of Princes Gold (formerly Princes Light). It might also be the base used in Apple and a few others that are not leaping to mind at the moment. Slightly sweet with perhaps the faintest hint of perfume. It could be citrus, but its not a bergamot SP that is more common. The name "Scotch" has nothing to do with American style Scotch snuffs as far as I'm aware. I suspect that its a Scottish style SP, which is a bit richer and heavier than anything else I've had that calls itself SP. It tends to make my nose run. Good basic snuff without any bells and whistles.

Finally a very pleasant experience after some disappointments snuffwise. Pours easily from the dispenser and it´s a bit burning, but not too unpleasantly. Plain tobacco in my book. Very solid and tasty.

Mid brown, quite dry (not moist as advertised on the Samuel Gawith website) and pours very easily and evenly from the plastic dispenser, fine to medium ground, with a little initial burn, but easy to take. More of a fine ground Kendal Brown than an SP, in that there is good earthy tobacco and a hint of citrus. The tobacco dominates for a long time and is really very good, but no bergamot. Nicotine quite low. Works very well in a snuff bullet.

I don't really know how to classify this snuff. It's milled fine and quite moist with a consistency that's almost cotton-candy like. It has a really nice strong flavor and a pleasant lingering note in the nose. I don't think there's menthol added, but there is an aromatic aspect to this. If you like a flavorful, moist, yet finely milled snuff, you may really enjoy this one.

Medium fine and medium dry, mid-brown and decent nicotine. Plain tobacco with a hint of spice and citrus.
