"Medicated" is right. It definitely delivers with the medicine flavor. The menthol is refreshing, but the whole experience is rather bland for a mentholated snuff. Try to find this in the 8g "pocket boxes." The box is perfect size for travel with any other snuff- if you can bare to finish the stuff that's in there.

This appears to be the same base tobacco as their SP no. 1, although with menthol and an aroma of the school caretaker's disinfectant to clean up some poorly child's mess. I find the merest whiff of this snuff nauseating. I have plenty of excellent menthol snuffs like Hedges and O&G in my collection so will not miss this one when it hits the bin. I recommend you try the small tin first if you are unfamiliar with this snuff, as I made the mistake of buying the larger vacuum packed tins. 1/10.

Pretty mediocre, medicated snuff, with the mild addition of camphor. The menthol´s quite strong, cooling and refreshing but the flavour´s not one of the best. In fact it´s a bit off putting at the first moment and gets better from there on. Nice tobacco flavour, but there are simply too many similar and better snuffs out there.

I've always loved the flavour of Hall's Mentholyptus Lozenges, whether I've had a cold or not. This Snuff has the kick of that, plus the obviously nice addition of "Vitamin N". Strangely, it's not entirely dissimilar to 5 Photo Snuff. Both have a wonderful Sinus clearing effect and leave a fantastic cool sensation in the entire head. In short, it gets a full five stars from a Menthol fanatic like me.

The tin I bought was dry, so I added a few drops of water to make it moist again. A nice blend of camphor and menthol, it is actually one of the menthols I enjoy. It isn't overbearing like most menthols are, and lets the natural tobacco flavor come through right off the bat. Nice hit of nicotine as well.

Liking the SM500 might be a give away of an eccentric taste but this was like the top shelf of SM500. Menthol, not candy and caramelly to top it off.

This was the first snuff I ever bought; that was 35 years ago and I've been using it on and off ever since. It's a finely ground medium moist snuff with a good mix of camphor and menthol and sometimes I think a little too much of both. Even now this is not a snuff I can use a lot of and I only tend to revisit it when have a cold or I'm slightly "bunged up". Too much of this stuff will blow you hat off and leave your eyes watering for a week. If you are after a mentholated snuff to use on a regular basis I'd go for McChrystal O&G, Gletscher Prise or even Dr Verey's Plus.

Nice blend of camphor and menthol. I don't use much of this one at a time because it makes my whole face feel frozen. I can't imagine using this all day. Overall great in small portions.

A finely ground medicated snuff, I found this pleasant but nothing exceptional. Unlike McChrystals O&G which blew me away with its complex blend of camphor, menthol and tobacco, i found J&H Wilson's to be very two dimensional. There's nothing wrong with this snuff, it just lacks that certain something.

Pretty distinctive for a medicated snuff, when a lot of them just taste of menthol crystals. There's quite a tang of eucalyptus in there as well. Whilst I could see this being useful if I had a cold, its not the sort of thing I could take otherwsie.

Fine grind, light brown and fairly dry. The taste is mildly medicated and menthol. Not bad at all.
