This is one of the prizes of my collection. Leman, below has it right. Its a odd combination of tonquin and florals. There may also be some citrus and some spice. Its such a wonderful blend its hard to pinpoint anything precisely. It is quite rich and very fulfilling. I have heard that Samuel Gawith's Bouquet is similar to this, but I cannot verify. It can tend to get a little clogging, but I only get it out on special occasions anyway.

A perfumed snuff, reminds me of baby powder, and shares one note with F&T Morlaix, it seems to me. A nice scent, fairly strong, and easy to take. I would tire of it if this was all I had for a day, but it's not bad for occasional use, I should think.

This stuff is absolutely wonderful. I was afraid of being let down after hearing how good the G Smith & Sons snuffs are, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It is a floral mix, with perhaps a bit of tonquin in there. I just got a tin of it today, and I haven't been able to keep my nose out of it. I look forward to trying more of their snuffs.

Smith's - under the old management - did a whole range of cardinal snuffs which were excellent and all had the same basic flavour - Tonquin I believe, although I await an expert to confirm that - making them variations on a theme. The Golden Cardinal is one of them and still a good snuff, although strictly speaking they have been Gawith snuffs for a long while now.

Light to mid-brown, medium grind and medium dry. Lovely flavour! This is probably my favourite perfumed snuff and I never seem to tire of it. Amazing "Bouquet" (if you know what I mean....). I recently got a chance to try some of Smith's Orange Cardinal, 40 years old and still a superb snuff. Would be nice if they started selling that one again.

Very Plesent, But Not Out Of The Ordinary

Now this is a parfumed snuff for taking form time to time. One could say it is refreshing ,but it is just cloging my nose up. Probably the parfume problem. Otherwise it is an okay snuff,i like to take some in the evening to relax a bit.
