I´ve thought the Zwiefacher from Bernard was the only Schmalzler Snuff, well, I was wrong. The Bayern-Prise is also a Schmalzler Snuff mix. Technically I´d say, it´s the Schmalzler A Brasil ground a bit finer and lightly mentholized. Very good result! The menthol doesn´t subdue the extraordinary Brasil flavour (dark chocolate, malt, licorice, slight sweetness and lots of tobacco), quite the contrary. It opens the nose and lets one inhale deeply. There are even better Schmalzler (Sternecker or Schmalzlerfranzl), but nonetheless, the Brasil A is a gem. Perfect for all day, every day use. And as much as I prefer "pure" Schmalzler, the grind of this one lets you enjoy it everywhere, without leaving so much of a mess.

This snuff isn't bad at all but I wouldn't call it outstanding. It's a fairly standard Schmalzler, slightly fruity and with a small amount of menthol added giving it a fairly refreshing feel. There really isn't anything much more to be said about it!

a black schmalzler. coarse ground and gritty.
on the box it says "schmalzler with snuff". i have no idea what the "snuff" is refering to, as this simply is traditional schmalzler.
mild, not very high in nicotine.
the taste, as most schmalzlers, is of dark, rich brasil leaf.
it is a bit sweeter than most other schmalzlers and i find the taste a bit flat, lacking the depths of other schmalzlers.
there are many better schmalzlers.
