Now this is quite tricky. Received this from Pöschl very fresh and in this state, the menthol is strong and I guess it´s intended to be/taste like this. I took a pinch some time ago, as it is the favourite snuff of one of Pöschl´s salesmen while he was visiting me and it was better in that specific "not so fresh" state. As usual, the menthol´s ruining a fair bit. From the fresh sample I do get some flavouring (well, safe to say menthol is clearly used as a flavour by Pöschl) underneath the menthol, but it is impossible, or wild guessing to say, which it could be. Vanilla? Aniseed? For sure it is lightly used and the menthol is pronounced, though not as strong as in some others. I guess the best way to use this snuff, is to "forget" it somewhere for 6-12 months and take it afterwards. Tried an "old" version of Ozona President like this and it was lightyears ahead of the fresh version. I like them better, when the menthol´s gone.

Well to some, there's not much difference between this & Ozona President. But when you really search, you can find slight & I mean slight differences. I don't get the hint of spicy citrus with this one like I do with President but that could all be do to differences in freshness? Not a bad snuff thats why it gets 3 stars, just not one I would use a lot. I've had the same 7g container for about 9 months now and its still half full. Speaking of the container, it is the same shape & size as the President just without the nice mirrored finish.

Mentholated but not overly so. I prefer this to the Ozona President. Taste seems more "natural". It's fairly fine, medium in moisture and mid-brown in colour. Really rather good I think.

the mccraig royal comes in an orange box. (maybe its a dutch royal..?).
it is rather fine ground and drier than your usual poeschl. i can only take int in small pinches or to the throat it goes.
it is only slightly mentholated and has a rather "dry" taste. maybe there is something citrus-like in it. it mostly tastes of dry, rather light tobacco. the taste is gone quickly.
it is not a bad tobacco, but nothing exciting either.
