Mid brown, fine to medium grind, moist, slightly sticky and sampled from a tin fresh from the mill. This is rather similar to Wilsons Aniseed Extra in style and the level of menthol is quite high - giving a good cooling effect. The liquorice flavour lingers a fair while, as does the coolness. I do find that this snuff is a bit too sweet and clogging for prolonged use however. I think I prefer the Aniseed Extra because it is slightly more refreshing in the long run. 6/10.

There are not many Licorice snuffs on the market. Plenty of aniseed snuffs, but not many licorice ones. There are differences in these two flavors, though subtle. Sadly, there are not really any non mentholated Licorice snuffs. This one is "Ice" Liqourice. "Ice" meaning heavy menthol to freeze your nose. Well, its not nearly as icy as Aniseed Extra, and being licorice the flavor is a bit sweeter, but it still only ranks two stars for me. Again, its all good quality and if these kinds of flavors are your thing, than this is good snuff. If you like more subtle aniseed snuffs then get the Aniseed & Eucalyptus. If you don't like both menthol and anise, than stay away!

It’s a wonderful snuff. The menthol part, called ‘ice’, seems to be the same as used in WoS ‘vanilla ice’; it’s very cooling. You have to be keen on menthol snuffs to enjoy this. The liquorice flavour’s very strong and natural compared to other liquorice snuffs, there’s just a little sweetness in here.

This is a very nice snuff, but I feel it's overshadowed considerably by Wilson's Aniseed Extra, which gives me much more of the anise flavor I love and seems to have other aspects that agree with me. The licorice in this is tasty but a little subdued. I'll revisit again once it dries out more. I find many of the Wilson's aromatics/menthols do better as they dry. Edit: as I suspected might be the case, this one improved dramatically after drying. I get a good lift from this, along with very good flavor, and it runs right alongside my other favorite in this category, Aniseed Extra.

As soon as you open the tin you can smell both the menthol (Ice) and liquorice flavours, and boy does it deliver! It's a fine, slightly clumpy snuff and you don't need much to really get the flavour. I find that it coats your nostrils well and the flavours stay in the nose for quite some time. The menthol is strong but refreshing, and the sweet liquorice flavour really cuts through deliciously. There's a reasonable nicotine hit too. I'd happily recommend this to anyone who loves liquorice!

Very nice! Lowenprise is one of my favorites. I think I could get away with putting this in the same container. This is a little less moist but has the same great licorice flavor that I like. There is always a place in my rotation for a good menthol snuff but there are so many of them. I for one do appreciate the differences. This is now my new favorate.

Immediately refreshing and nose tingling, the liqourice and menthol have been blended very well. Some people may find the coolness a bit too much, and this persists along with the flavour for some time. Should give a good 'lift' when used in moderation.
