Perhaps I got a bad sample, but I've tried two different tins, and for me, the orange and the toast clash to create an unpleasent warm, fuggy scent that reminds me of being in a warm room in which wet, furry or wolly animals are drying out in front of a roaring fire. I'm a big fan of Toque Natural Toast, and Wilson's Irish DHT #20, which is something of a toasted SP, is one of my very favorite snuffs, but I find that the flavors here don't complement each other, leaving one with a scent that is less than the sum of it's parts. My opinion seems to be in the minority, so take it for what it's worth, but don't be surprised if the round, slightly sour fruitiness of the type of orange used here combined with a strong, astringent toasty character cause you to wish that it would have been one or the other. A great burn and a great silky feel to the tobacco lead me to conclude that this is a high quality offering, but one in which he scents blend more awkwardly than I'd like. I still take a pinch on occasion, but always find myself wishing that either the toastiness or the orange would have been blended in different proportions, or perhaps left on their own.

There is not much I can add to the long list of reviews here, but I am determined to review every snuff I try.
Toque has certainly expanded the traditional idea of Toasts. Flavored toasts are generally unheard of among the long established snuff makers. Yet, Toque has several, and they are all good. Of course, not every flavor works with toast, but Toque seems to know what does. Orange certainly does. Its a very clever name, too, calling it Toast & Marmalade. Well, what else can you put marmalade on? The base toast snuff is the same pale brown high quality that is used in the other Toque toasts.
Now, snuffing this, its quite fine and dry as a toast should be, and much care should be taken especially by beginners. I find that I need a few pinches to really get the orange flavor to stand up. The orange is most present when the snuff is fresh, so keep it sealed well or use it quickly if you want to retain the scent. Very good!

This is rapidly becoming one of my favourite snuffs. I love toasts, particularly in the evening, and Toast and Marmalade has a deliciously sweet undertone which is carried the slightly dusty and fuggy tobacco base beautifully. I don't find the orange to be overwhelming, but definitely in the style of a marmalade, with a caramel, sugary scent which lingers, but doesn't dominate. There seems to be plenty of nicotine in there and it's certainly one I'd recommend to smokers, since there's a definite sense of expensive cigarettes in the tobacco base, with a weirdly papery quality, like an old soft packet of Gauloise. Once again, Toque have entered a field crowded with tradition and given the old snuff houses a competitor to be reckoned with.

Well, at least in my tin the often mentioned orange flavour is by far not as obvious as the reviews suggest. Could be due to storage at the retailer. Whatever.
Indeed this is another surprising snuff from Toque. For a toast this is incredibly easy to take and given that nice, well balanced flavour it could be even the ideal beginner“s toast. Very good smoky flavour, but not too sharp or heavy. Quite long lasting presence. Slight sweetness.

OK, I'm not a big fan of Toast's. That being said, Toque's Toast & Marmalade is one of the few Toast's that I enjoy on a regular basis. I usually take a pinch or two during the early evening hours; however, as the evening draws to a close, I find myself adding some of Toque's St. Clements to enhance and strengthen the marmalade flavor. I also like taking a pinch of this snuff during the early morning hours while I walk my dog. Although I don't think I'll ever purchase a 25g tin, I will always have a 10g or bullet in my collection.

Pale brown, fine and dry, but more coarsely ground than other toasts out there, this snuff is easy to take in large pinches and captures the marmalade and toast flavour well. However, as with their St. Clements, there is this wet dog aroma that appears initially but subsides with further pinches. Not as sweet as Whisky and Honey, nor as smokey as the Bourbon, this snuff has an obvious orange zest to it. Anyway, I'm not a fan of marmalade, nor smelly dogs so I'll not bother buying this again, as I much prefer Whisky & Honey and Bourbon. 5/10.

After a good deal of toking away on various Toques over the last month the first thing I want to say about this snuff is that - so far, anyway - this stuff provides the strongest nicotine kick of all the range I've tried - and I say that after getting through most of a can of Quit. Perhaps it's the toast roast & grind? Whatever it is, this stuff is a fair bit stronger than Quit in my book. It's made me remember that, at its best, a good marmalade is quite a different affair to an orange jam: a strong, tart marmalade is a challenging thing to spread on one's toast and this snuff is a challenging thing to snort up one's hooter: there's often an eye-watering burn for me, the flavour is intense (quite literally 'in-your-face') and it delivers a powerful wake up call to your nicotine-thirsting nerves. The orange flavour - as others below have noted - is vigorous and interesting; there's a strong association it always brings to mind for me that I seem to be continually on the cusp of naming but haven't quite found yet (something of a fragrant waxy nature - a beeswax maybe? No, that's not quite right...). Toast and Honey is a more agreeable nose-treatment, no argument, but this one is bolder, stronger and more enlivening by far. Five Stars - and thanks, Roderick.

Reminded me of an American Scotch with a hint of orange that develops in the nostrils quite well. Was easier to take than some scotches I've had. Slight burn but that's to be expected. Great nic content. Light brown/tan in color and dry. Another wonderful Toque!

This is a lovely, fine, dry toast with a slight hint of orange. It is very fragrant and a lovely snuff that is a pleasure to take. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the 5 is IMHO saved for things that are the best of the best like Whiskey and Honey, but this is still some really excellent snuff.

A very well done flavored toast. This is a floury grind but with the added scent, really helps it to stay in the front of nose. It has a beautiful toasty tone well balanced with a delicate kiss of orange. For a toast, it is easy to take and very satisfying.

Another toast that is sweet. This one sweet with orange. Seems the same orange that is in the St.Clements. Sweet orange goes well with the dry toast making for a very easy to snuff dry toast. A really good snuff! It seems the scenting in the toast helps with the snuffing as in it goes to where you want it too in the nose. May just be my imagination but it works for me.

I think Roderick said before this was released, that it had a kick like a mule. It does, one hell of a powerful snuff and reminds me somewhat if an American Scotch. Great flavour, great punch. My single criticism, or obsevation, is that I can't detect marmalade anywhere in this, but what the heck, its a good snuff

The other 2 reviewers have done quite a good job here so there isn't much to add. Unfortunately, this toast is overshadowed by the enormous Whiskey & Honey. Yet, in its own right, it's quite an excellent toast. In my view, it's a cousin to F&T's Seville with its own orange flavor.
To be honest, I enjoy Seville's flavor more but I find the Toast & Marmalade easier to take.
There is an aspect of the orange flavor in this which doesn't agree with me but I don't like orange much so I'm not the best judge. If you like toasts and orange flavor, this is a must try. It is an excellent toast.
The nicotine on this one seems noticeably stronger than with the Whiskey & Honey. Those coming off cancer sticks should probably also consider this good toast.

I find it almost regrettable that Toque released this one alongside my current favorite; the Honey & Whisky. I say almost because I'm certainly glad they did but I think the W & H outshines this great selection. Others may disagree and prefer this toast and there's no rule prohibiting buying both. T & M has a smooth, lightly toasted tobacco character with the 'Marmalade' essence serving as a backdrop. I think this one's fairly mild considering the warnings and have had no problems enjoying it to it's fullest. I'm quite sure I'll always keep some of this around and will now be getting to know it even better as I'm about out of it's partner. FWIW, I much prefer this one to a couple of other older and well established HDT's.

Before I launch into this review I have to comment on the excellence of the new style Toque tins, both 10g and 25g sizes. The screw tops make for no nasty surprises in the pocket (as in no spilt snuff) and the ingenious plastic diaphragm (for want of a better or technical term) means that no snuff is spilt when opening the tin. No need even to tap the tin any more, except that that ritual is hard to stop!
This is a truly wonderful take on the High Dry Toast style of snuff. It's fine, dry and light in colour and yet I find it much easier to take than some toasts and scotches, which are of a similar style. I think it is possibly slightly moister than those snuffs from other makers.
The flavour is equally delightful. Like the St Clements, it gives an initial and powerful taste of good Seville oranges, but without the lemon flavour of the St Clements of course. As the oranges recede the toasted tobacco takes over and what an excellent taste that is! Smoky yet clean and it lingers most pleasantly and with a satisfying bite.
10/10 again for Toque.
