Reviews for Poschl Ozona President

Nice little tap box for a nice little snuff. It's textured like other non-schmalzers and packs a bit less of a menthol punch. Citrus notes are present but not as big as I'd like them to be.

Probably my favorite of the Pöschl non-schmalzlers. Not as heavily mentholated as the others, and the eucalyptus is present. Slightly sweet with a citrusy taste. Only thing that drags this down is the paraffin wax that they use.

As soon I took my first sniff of Ozona President I was in "heaven" with the aromas and the cooling that it had. This snuff is way and I mean WAY different that i currently use ex, scotches, bourbons, ect...

An excellent snuff for a beginner. This was my first snuff purchase. It's dark, fairly moist and definitely smells of the menthol notes right from the start. It's moist enough that it's tough to use too deeply and end up with it in your sinuses or throat. The menthol is very strong and has a wonderful sinus-clearing effect. The tobacco notes are subtle underneath it, but definitely present.

A mediocre menthol snuff in a rather nice looking box. It was a dissapointment for me, not in the class of Löwenpris or Gawith Cola. I guess it is rather beginner friendly but if you are new to snuff and want to try a menthol you should try Hedges instead.

Snuff snobs tend to be a little condescending toward Poschl's non-Schmalzer snuffs, but in the case of President, their condescension is misplaced. This was my first snuff, and I'll always have a soft spot for it. A great, sweetish, dark-waxy tobacco base that's not too heavily mentholated as far as some mentholated snuffs go, and a great cooling effect that doesn't completely submerge the dark, characterful tobacco base in a mentholated deep freeze. OK, it's a little expensive, and the container is a little gimmicky and hard to figure out at first, but when I took my first few shakes from out of the container on the back of my hand, got that great cooling sensation combined with a sweetness that's very unlike English Menthols, along with the warmth and earthiness of the tobacco, and realized that I didn't have to have a cigarette right then--even though it was right after dinner--I was hooked for good. If this was in a Bernard's box it would probably have twice the prestige, although I admit it's somewhat lacking in depth and character when compared to the great Bernard's mentholated Schmalzers. An excellent beginners snuff, no doubt, but an excellent snuff in its own right as well; I always carry a container with me.

It’s a nice eucalyptus scented snuff, a typical pöschl in grind and moisture.

this isnt my first snuff but it is the first snuff i started using regulatly and my first menthol. i is finer than the kinds i have used so it took about three trys to get it right but once i did it is a good snuff gives a good buzz and the menthol opens my sinuses which is great in the winter i like it but not all day just in the morning to get me going and in the evening to keep me awake and so i can breathe overall i would say great for beginners and fans of menthol but as i havent tried very many take what i say for a what its worth i do like the mirror finish (as previously stated) for checking nose

My first flavor, and probably the one I enjoy most! My first sniff kinda reminded me of "vicks vapo-rub" (in a good way) it opened my nasal passages and I was hooked! I also like the mirrored container for checking the nose.

This snuff isn't bad. Menthol and eucalyptus and some other sweet flavors, with Poschl's signature moisture and grind. I would consider buying it again, as I can acquire it locally, but the small 7 gram container costs the same as a 10 gram container of Gletscher Prise, which I like a little bit more, so I'm not terribly inclined to. Less menthol and this could have been my all time favorite.

This is the only one of the Ozona series I would consider getting a second time. Its typical of most Pöschl snuffs in that it is waxy moist, heavily mentholated and sweet. The flavor is strongly eucalyptus with some citrus and spice undertones, many reviews cite aniseed, but I do not taste any. The menthol is somewhat less than in most of the Pöschl products, which is probably why I like this one a bit more. It has a pleasant cooling effect. It is however a bit too much, and that costs it a star. This one also doesn't have as much of that gagging effect on me as the other Ozonas and Gawith Apricot do. I'd recommend this to the beginner that can handle menthol.

I like this one far more than Gletscher Prise. The Camphor/Menthol/Eucalyptus combination really hits the spot and the Tobacco flavour is very earthy and satisfying. Poeschl's dispensers also deserve a nod. Very easy to slip into a shirt pocket so you can get on with your latest adventure.

For me, this one seems to be across between Lowenprise and Gletcherprise; and to be honest with you, I prefer Gletcherprise. If you were to mix Lowenprise and Gletcherprise in the proper amounts, you will get the same flavor as the President. President also comes in a 7g tin; whereas, Lowenprise and Gletcherprise are both 10g! Why buy the President when you can get a better deal by mixing Lowenprise and Gletcherprise?

The only rason I never ordered this was because of the talk of anisseed in this as I hate that flavor/scent with a passion. Well, I certainly dont detect that in here at all!!! This is amazing. I love menthol snuffs and the tap boxes as well as compared to pinching. This is extremely moist and a lil difficult to get out of the box but once you do its well worth it. The first scent I got was citrus with a menthol undertone. As the cent moves on the citrus slowly fades and a very nice calming cool feeling washes over you and the menthol ligers for some time and its a very good experience. 9/10 in my books.

And another pleasant surprise from Pöschl! Even for someone not too keen on mentholated snuffs, this one is very acceptable. The more dominant flavour in the President is Eucalyptus and a very strong one it is. After the initial hit it changes to a subtle licorice flavour, but highly agreeable. Due to the typical Pöschl fluffyness it is impossible to shoot it directly to the throat. Tremendous refreshing effect. The silver container works like a mirror, which is a very nice gimmick. Recommended for beginners, veterans, pirates and adventurers alike.

Another great one from poschl. I love the menthol and aniseed flavors. Just like the Poschl Apricot, this one is always in my collection and plenty of it.

Similar or the same grind as Gletscher Prise. I have several people try this one and like it would be hard to over do a pinch with this. For me the blend of menthol and eucalyptus is just right. The oil used in making President seems to be the same as thier other snuffs. I get sad when this runs low I will order this over and over. Oh and I can get this local also.... twice the price however =(

Deep brown, fluffy, medium ground and medium moist. A pleasant straightforward blend of menthol and eucalyptus with a satisfying tobacco finish and a hint of liquorice. This will appeal very much to beginners, as most Poschl products seem to. Moreish and refreshing, but not quite in the same league as O&G. Handy dispenser with a mirror finish. 7/10.

this is another menthol that i kind of like, the eucalyptus is actually the part i like i think, but to sum it up it's menthol/eucalyptus with what seems to be a bit of anisseed hiding in there somewhere which i sometimes notice and sometimes don't.

Mentholated with a hint of licorice and other subtle aromatics. Enjoyable, but somehow unmemorable. I love the box. I would choose it over the Cola, but I prefer Packard's Club to this one.

This is the first snuff that I've ever tried. It has a very nice menthol flavor to it that really opens up the sinuses. There's also a hint of aniseed in there. It was definitely rather impressive for my first. Not too strong and not too mild.

This snuff is fit for a King, let alone a President. Good menthol kick with undertones of anniseed, honey(?) not to dry, easy to take. I have another tin sitting in my freezer, so can use it frquently enough. Not an everyday snuff for me though, I love to take some late at night. Would love have some on hand always.

A nice blend of menthol and spices. The most easy menthol to snuff and to get. Better snuff is out there but snuff it if you have it.

Yet another fine product from Poschl and Co. I have found a slight flavor of anisette along with which really is the icing on the cake for me. This one is very similar to the Gawith Apricot IMO and has plenty of menthol, almost to a peppermint degree but as I try another pile of this one, I'm reminded that it is one of my very favorites thus far. I will be using this one on Thanksgiving and Christmas and most days in between! This 5 gm. container is indeed pretty slick and like someone said previously, the handy mirrored packaging allows one to even check their nose after a few pinches although with the new health warnings plastered across the front in bold letters, it takes away from the general beauty of the packaging. Truly a shame, but very easy to overlook due to the extreme high quality of this product. I will be buying this one again I can assure you !! 9.2 nostrils !

This is my third Poschl snuff, and like Lowenprise and Gletcherprise, it is fine for a beginner like me. So much so that I have tried it on people who have never tried snuff in their lives and it was an instant hit all round. I took some to a pub and dared to get it out. People were instantly curious, particularly smokers and ex-smokers. The very attractive pack did the rounds of the bar and at the end people were asking where they could get some.

I love this snuff. It's pretty basic to be sure. Menthol and eucalptus (which smells a little aniseedy) a traing wheels grind and moisture conent But damn it is good stuff. Definatly clears out the demons that live in your nose (phelegm and other nastiness that is). The tobacco unlike most poschls actualy seems like a component of the scent and is actualy my favorite part. When the oil scents fade a very strong dark cigar scent appears and is really awesome it actualy to me smells like what a wet cigar would smell like if somehow that was a good scent! Also if you've never had this snuff it is worth buying just to get the cool box it comes in. AGain not a snuff I use all the time but if I don't go through a few tins a year I start to feel like something is missing.

Eucalyptus And Menthol Very Nice, But Nothing Special. Like Troutstroker I Find The Silver Box Makes A Handy Mirror. I've Used Up All The President Now But Still Carry The Empty Box About With Me.

This was a little too strong in the menthol for my liking for a regular use snuff but I do enjoy the scent thats balanced with a soft spicy citrus tone. The mirrored finish on the container comes in handy for checking your nose to make sure there is no snuff on it. Or maybe if you get lost you could use it to signal the search plane.

Have just tried this one out, and, I like it. I could certainly use it all day long, if I had to. Not too overpowering and this one will be added to my list of those snuffs I endeavour to keep in 'stock'.

Love the eucalyptus! The bottom note is also delicious though I cannot put my finger on it. Great containers. I love snuffing off the back of my hand with Poschl. This snuff awakened me to the differences between the eucalyptus, camphor, and menthol crystal flavors. If you don't like mentholated snuffs it may just be a specific type that you disagree with. So do your homework people. You may find treasure!

a good, strong menthol. no nonsense. it delivers menthol, medium nicotine, some citrus notes. cools my nose and does not bite. the colour is of a medium brown and the texture is fine ground for a poeschl.

Another snuff which I "met" last year already. At first, I was not impressed but now, on my second box, I love it. I cannot use it everyday but I love to take a sniff at least every second day. I love the fresh, cool "breeze" it sends up my nise. I will always have some of it in my collection

A med/coarse snuff with a menthol that doesnt mix with me for some reason,it always clogs me up,the first minute or so is refreshing then I get a stale artificial taste that I quickly blow out,of course your mileage will vary,A lot of people like this and it seems to be a very popular snuff, give it a try.
