Reviews for Poschl Packard's Club

First off, the ridiculous dispenser this comes in requires too much of the user to be used with ease. It seems more of a novelty contraption for amusement. It requires at least 5 doses from the spring loaded sliding mechanism to provide a reasonable amount to accomodate both nostrils. The snuff hits with an unpleasant degree of menthol, like nearly every Pöschl product. Once the menthol settles down a bit, one can finally begin to try and enjoy this. The flavor is slightly sweet, perhaps some bergamot and some spice. Its not unpleasant, but neither is it one I would seek out. As with many Pöschl snuffs with their waxy texture has a tendency to work its way into the back of the throat and require some hacking to expell it.

When I first got into snuffing I bought a great deal of the Poschl products to try out. I can't say I was dissapointed in any of them, but I did find a few true winners of which Packards Club is one. Delectably fruity with a spicy undertone of nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice it reminds of apple pies cooling on a windowsill on a crisp fall day. The menthol which can get rather overpowering in some poschl snuffs is well done here and harmonizes with the other flavours. Definately a must have snuff for me, even if the dispenser can be problematic to learn.

Something about this reminds me of my childhood. I think it's a combination of the menthol and the spice. Something about my childhood and fishing. DEFINITELY my favorite Poschl, and at this moment my favorite snuff. Great mix of menthol and flavor. Or, flavor and menthol, as the menthol takes a back seat to the spice. Interesting dispenser, while the container is full it measures out a good dose, but I can see that changing soon, as I am sure this will be empty tomorrow. Great snuff. I will absolutely be ordering this again soon.

Medium brown, medium grind and medium moist, this is my favourite Poschl snuff and seems to be their answer to O&G. Apparently it is no longer exported to the UK, which is a pity, and makes it quite expensive to get hold of. The first thing I noticed was the dreadful measured dispenser which either releases precious little or a great dollop which falls off the back of my hand. Once up the nostril it is a perfectly balanced blend of menthol, camphor and spiciness which reminds me of O&G, plus a subtle rose finish. Fluffy and slightly oily (so watch out for a bitter drip), so easy for beginners, and with enough nicotine to satisfy seasoned snuffers. The high price and grotty dispenser stops me giving it five stars. 8/10.

I have to admit I bought this one for the neat dispenser package. the flavor is ok not quite sure what they are but its not bad. It is my back-up snuff currently. As i said the dispenser is neat, but it gives too much if you ask me.

Even after a few days of sniffing this one, I can´t really tell which flavours seem to be inside here. The menthol is too strong. Well, the mixture is pleasant, not especially fruity, rather the slightest of musk, rose and some mint, peppermint maybe. I like the extraordinary dispenser this comes in. Maybe if the menthol vanishes a bit, this will become much more enjoyable. But still, far from being bad.

This is a heavyily mentholated typical german snuff. it has fruity undertones, and an old spice like smell to it. After 2-3 min the menthol fades, and the fruit dominates. It comes in a dispenser type container, that in my opinion does a little to much. I would and more nicotine, and less menthol.

I let myself be sidetracked by some negative reviews of this, which is a pity, because I am enjoying it very much, despite dispensing it onto my lap due to having the box the wrong way round. Yes, I am a dope, but the dispenser is fiddly. There has been talk of "blasts of menthol", but not by me. It's there, but the overwhelming aroma for me was a kind of rose, incense smell not unlike Turkish Delight. So, a bit like snorting a soggy joss stick. Seriously, this is very pleasant and easy on the nose and worth a try, but you'll probably hate it.

This is an interesting change of pace from other Poschl's. The dispenser is nice, giving a measured portion for every pinch. IMO, not as strong as other Poschl's; yet, has enough of a menthol kick to keep things interesting. This one goes very well with other Poschl's. I especially like it with President. Both novice and experienced snuff users will enjoy this one.

The menthol blast is very uplifting. It's helpful in chasing away sleepiness. A good snuff to keep on one's desk when there's a paper due the next day and the clock reads 3:10AM.

This one is so simple it's confusing, it seems to be a straight forward masculine type menthol but if you concentrate it has a subtle under note so subtle that i can't decide if its colonge/fruit/floral or a mixture of the three.

I like this mentholated snuff. I found it fruity and clean. I enjoyed it with my brother while playing golf. I love the way it dispenses the tobacco in a little cube. I can take cube after cube without clogging. It enhanced my vacation and it welcomes company. Good retro-looking box. I recommend it.

I think I would describe this as a scented menthol snuff - I'm sure there is a touch eucalyptus in there, plus some peppermint as well as a light, non-specific fruitiness. It's not bad at all for a menthol snuff - I don't find the menthol too excessive but there is something else about it which I can't quite pin down as to why it doesn't really hit the spot for me. Some seem to like the container with it's little dispensing slide but I find it somewhat awkward (arthritic fingers don't help) and I usually prefer to take a pinch anyway.

Pretty strong for a Poschl, there is quite a menthol blast with this. There is some flavour to it however, which stops it sinking to the level of yet another menthol snuff without any character - I sometimes wonder if the blenders at Poschl realise its possible to create snuff without it. In any case this is one of the more interesting ones in their range of a thousand different menthol snuffs. Nice container as well.

Its a medium to dry snuff, somewhat creamy with a good shot of menthol. But there are other, sweet oromas present which I cannot identify. This a beautiful snuff and I love it. I'm on my last tins because we have been robbed by Poschl, cant get it in the UK anymore. And I'm not going to order from Rajeks, they charge ridiculous amounts for handling and postage.. I feel like crying!! Packards Club is GOOD snuff and I must get hold of some more.

Packards Club is easily my favorite Poschl yet. The fruity undertones are delicious but obfuscated to some degree by the overpowering menthol. Another, fairly strong but unidentifiable component makes for an above average and interesting sniff. The case is great too, a sort of bullet that delivers a perfect half hit straight from the box. A slightly better build could make for a great reusable dispenser.

I quite like this snuff, not too overpowering on the menthol front. The cute dispenser seems a good idea, but in practice I found it a bit fiddly. Nice hit with undertones, and I will probably buy this again. Yes, I have ordered this one again. I don't find it overly menthol and.for me, it has a pleasant after note. Surely one of the best Poschl menthols, fresh and uplifting without too much menthol. Handy dispenser keeps you reaching for it.

This is somewhat fine grind for a Poschl snuff. I do enjoy the fruity yet masculine scent a lot but the high menthol level turns me off to this snuff as regular everyday snuff. It does come in a very nice container with a great slide up dispenser at the top that delivers a nice amount of snuff. If the menthol was lighter, I would probably use it more often. But the occasion I get the urge for a strong menthol with a pleasant scent, this one is usually on my list.

Another strong menthol for me. I detect a baritone cherry flavor in it but there doesn't seem to be a base note. With it's one of a kind dispenser system this is a fun product. Good for use outdoors. I snuff directly from the container...a little much. I do like it but don't as much as love it. So there!

its a love or hate thing. i tend to the hate camp with this one, but the three stars indicate that i accept that it coul be liked by some. maybe it is an acquired taste. (but i do not want to acquire it). medium menthol, something flowery lingering in it. and, most pronounced, a smell (sic) that reminds me of a (more or less clean) bathroom. the tin is described in-depth above by Bob. but i do not like the tin, as the portion of snuff that it puts out does not seem to fit my habits. one portion is too small, two is too much.

Masculinly fruity. That is the discription of this snuff. It has a slightly citrus scent (very generic) a hint of menthol and a cologne undertone. The cologne under tone is what seperates this snuff from others, well that and it's wonderfull packaging which will dump a measured amount of snuff easily and with little fuss. I love the package hate the snuff. No one feels neutral about this snuff it is one you will either love or hate and the crux of the matter seems to be the cologne undertone, while I like the rest of the scent the cologne ruins this snuff in my opinion to me it could be compared to eat a good meal next to a dumpster. However many people love this snuff and consider it one of the best. It is unique enough that I recomend a trail of it after which I'am 90 percent posotive you will either throw the tin in the trash can (or send it too a fan) or put it in your regular rotation. This is why I gave it a three star because it's a clear love or hate snuff which for me would get zero stars but for many is a five star masterpiece.
