It´s quite obvious, Frederick Tranter made a mistake by stating this snuff to be a "plain" on their site. It´s the first thing after opening the tin, to receive a (mild) citrus scent. And after sniffing it, I have to say it´s a very delicious citric scent, I just can´t tell the source. It could even be bergamot. It´s a bit short lived and turns into a similar delicious plain tobacco scent. Quite unexpected and unique. It´s easy to take, sometimes with a little burn, though.

This is another snuff that Tranter's describes as "plain" but which to me has some interesting and subtle flavours. Yes, essentially it is a plain, mid-brown snuff but I get a touch of toasted SP in there, not unlike Wilson's No. 20. And that's no bad thing at all. The moisture level is on the top side of medium, almost moist and it has a distinct and enjoyable burn, which fades quickly leaving an excellent plain tobacco taste with just a hint of citrus and smoke. Excellent stuff!
