Beautiful dark tobacco. Soft and moist with a light bergamot scent. The popular scent does not stand out as with lighter tobacco but balances the dark moist blend very nicely. Unique among SP snuff due to it's dark nature, a must try for SP lovers. I think that a smokey component to this snuff would be what is missing here, not that the Best Dark is lacking.

Rich bergamot flavour and a good, dark and moist tobacco base. Maybe SP would be a good classification, but it´s also a bit reminding of Kendal Brown´s. The perfumey appearance even reminds me a bit of F&T snuffs and that´s also a bit too heavy for me to enjoy it all day. Still, it´s excellent every now and then and quite easy to take. Due to the moisture, the tin´s got a tendency to corrode.

Decent, traditional SP like snuff. A great and solid member of the family.

Dark brown, coarsely ground, medium to quite moist, flavoured with bergamot and complemented by good earthy, leathery tobacco. Somewhere between an SP and a Kendal Brown in style, and fairly similar to the Wilsons Brunswick blend, but not quite as dark or coarse. Moderate nicotine and easy to take large pinches, although sometimes it clogs and other times it doesn't. Ideal with a pint of stout or porter. 7/10.

Being a lover of SPs I was recommended this one. I was expecting an SP even stronger than Tom Buck.
That is not what I found in this though, but I do like it.
To class it as SP I don't think is fair. Sure it has some bergamot, but it also has a perfume nature to it. Also it is much, much darker and richer than anything else I have tried from Wilson thus far (except maybe Chocolate Orange). Best Dark really belongs in its own class.
The grind is much heavier than the standard Wilsons' grind, but it can still sting the newbie who is not careful, perhaps more due to its pungency than its grind.
I've had both clearing and cloying effects with this, so your experience may vary.
Well worth a try for being something a little different.

This is rather like a dark coarser milled Best SP. The citrus nose is fresh and invigorating and fades to leave a warm tobacco nose. Easy to take in large doses. This, together, with Best S.P and its variants, share a similar bergamot/citrus tone (bergamot (Citrus Bergamia)from Reggio-Colabria in Italy - a cross between the pear lemon and the Seville orange) which gives a fresh citrus note that is the distinctive taste of Wilsons of Sharrow and is not found in any of their other snuffs.

This one is a very pleasant possibly all day type snuff, similar to best sp but sweeter and more rounded less sharp no burn to my senses what so ever. It is very pleasant, kind of comforting and very moreish. Quite moist and easy to snuff if i find any negative it is probably that i have to put a little effort in my sniff to get it all up, which isn't necesarilly a negative.

Rich tobacco almost black as the name would suggest. Moist when first opened and seems to dries out quicker than other snuffs. The SP flavoring complements the tobacco instead of covering it up. It has a medium burn that has a few seconds delay on it. More burn as it dries out from opening and closing the tin. This is my first great experience with an SP. If you like SPs just go for the 25g tin for the first order.

Moist, dark and semi-coarse milled. SP-like undertones. Very nice indeed.

Wilsons Best Dark is Very nice reminds me of the Best SP by Wilsons just darker and richer. Stronger full body taste. I found it to be great for a beginner who wants to move up in their snuff tasting (Running with the Big Dogs). My taste in snuff has improved. You will detect the finer notes of truly good tobacco and experience a taste of history with this Awesome Snuff.
