OOh I regret my first review of this snuff!! I must have had a bad day!! This blend did the same to me, like Schmalzlers did! At first I hated them - then they began growing on me, and now there's hardly a day, when I don't have a pinch of Schmalzler! The same goes for Brunswick. I now have learned to appreciate its freshness - gorgeous in hot weather, and the citron scent is very cooling and refreshing. It has a delicate tone of dark leathery tobacco, and when one gets the grip on pinching really moist snuff, it is easy to take! All in all I take everything I said before back, and give this blend 4 stars! Really a well blended snuff!

This is very similar to Wilson's Princes, with lemon asserting itself over the other florals. It's very nice. I think I prefer their Princes but I'll keep at this and update my review if necessary. It's still very, very good.

This is what Wilsons call their Black Rappee. When comparing it to Samuel Gawith's Black Rappee, there is very little in common. This is course for a Wilson's snuff, but compared to SG's course ones, this is more of a medium. The scenting is also very different. SG's Black Rappee is a smokey-peaty affair and this is a citrus-floral one.
This is better compared to some of the others in the Wilson's family.
The grind/moisture/color nature is very much like Wilson's Princes. The scenting is more like their Best Dark. This goes quite a bit beyond Best Dark in complexity. It has very pungent citrus notes. They are probably bergamot and citron or lemon. There is also a backing floral note which is rather pleasing.
Being so rich and dark it can be tricky to sniff, but a bit of pushing and holding will do the job that wind alone cannot. Again, its very pungent which can give a bit of burn and last too long or be too strong for many tastes. I happen to enjoy it though!
As with all Wilson's dark-moist snuffs, it is prudent to decant them into a non-corrosive and airtight container as soon as practical. These have a tendency to rust their tins from the inside out, and also to dry out quickly.

In my opinion, this snuff is only for people who also love mentholated snuffs. That is people who really don't like the taste of tobacco. It is so heavily perfumed, that it is absolutely impossible to sort out any tobacco scent at all. I pinch a little occasionally but I regret it every time.

This is my favorite WOS snuff, I use it often. Dark and rich and moist with slight floral earthy scents. This snuff lasts for a good while and is very satisfying. I would decant it into something else as it is so moist the tin rusts.

Very dark, moist, pungent, forward and earthy. Thinking back to my wine tasting days it reminds me a little of Chateau Petrus in that the combination of floral scents comes across smelling like road tar and floral vegetation. It sounds strange, but it's a very heady combination. Similar to F&T Princes Special, but there's a little more going on in the F&T than in the Wilson's, although the Wilson's aggressiveness can be appealing. The scent lingers for a very long time. Medium nicotine, and a good, long lasting burn. Since the grind is somewhat coarse, it's easy to get a satisfying feeling of "fullness" from taking large pinches of this, which I seem to have little trouble keeping in my nose. One of my favorite Wilson's snuff, but more of a night cap snuff than an all day-er.

Earlier reviews were dead serious about this being packed with flavor. Wilson's tossed in the works on this one. The esential oils are so thick as to give this a Schmalzler like texture. It has a vast multitude of scents and flavors. The result is a very long lasting nasal coating of perfumes ranging from spicy citrus to earthy musk tones. If you use a lot of different snuffs throughout the day, allow for plenty of time to clear this one out of your nose. I have to dock it a star simply because it is too heavy for me to use more than occasionally. As stated before, it can be a bit messy and slightly irritating due to the coarseness. However, if you want flavor and long lasting aroma you would be hard pressed to find a better snuff for your money. This is what I thought F&T Santo Domingo would be based on its description. The two aren't even close. A mortician's best choice.

Most delightful and one of the longest lasting snuffs from Wilson´s. It´s really a very dark tobacco being used here, also very moist and quite coarse. I´d say the high moisture could create a bit of corrosion with those tins, if it´s getting a bit old. To me it seems that there´s some lemon as well as bergamot being used here, as the citrus scent is lemon sharp initially and it transforms, in a pretty long course to a very mellow and outstanding bergamot flavour. A bit the same with the floral inside here. It´s obviosly rose being the dominant one, but after some time there´s the impression that the geranium is also there, although softer. It works tremendously well with the tobacco, they just made everything right here and it´s a pure delight, best being bought in bulk I guess (and will do the next time). The flavour revival after blowing the nose is second to none, I´d say. Wonderful!

Delicious snuff! A black rapee with a strong rose flavour which would be revolting if it weren't beautifully cut with citrus highlights. Good stuff.

Almost black (like boot polish), coarse and moist, this snuff shares the leathery, peaty and satisfying tobacco base of the Princes variety, but is scented differently. The geranium is absent, or more subdued perhaps, but instead there is a lovely citrus and rose aroma which you'd think was incongruous with the dark coarse tobacco, but it works well. Not really an all day snuff, and it is messy (the grind and moistness means it needs quite a hard sniff). Nicotine levels average. If you like Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown, then this snuff will appeal. 8/10.
EDIT: WARNING! Do not store this snuff long term in the tin! This snuff corrodes the tin and leaves it unusable.

A nice traditional, old fashioned type snuff. Wilsons do this type of snuff very well. A nice break from the more contrived of modern flavours, you can imagine Dr Johnson taking it or snuffy Queen Charlotte.

I like this snuff a lot. I can't put my finger on all the scents it has. Though I pick up a spicey floral as well as a predominat citrus probabaly bergamot. It's seems to have toquin in it as well though not sure if that is correct. It also seems to have a slight hint of ginger. It's also a very visual pleaseing snuff as it is dark with strange little crystals in that have a slightly rainbow sheen to them.

Similar to Wilson's Princes but I like this much better. There is a strong citron flavor in addition to the geranium. Black and moist. Very messy. The long lasting scent stays with and does not blow easily not a bad thing but makes this snuff hard to follow in a sequence. A little cloying but makes a great finisher. Good for an occasional pinch. I think that geranium does not agree with me, the citron I love.

This is a quite moist, medium to dark brown and medium grind snuff. While there is some scent in there, which I have trouble placing, it comes over as more of a dark SP than a scented snuff and isn't unlike Wilson's Best Dark (which I also like). It's sufficiently moist that there is a tendency for it to corrode the tin somewhat, making it difficult to open. Well worth the effort though. Overall I find it a clean and refreshing snuff which doesn't clog me up at all.

Loved this when I first tried it, but now find it a bit coarse moist and messy!
I still like the flavour, but time will tell whether I can conjure up my first enthusiasm.
