A complexly scented snuff this is. Citron spice. lemony sharp scents expertly perfumed with subtle floral scents. Geranium I can pick out but it is not as strong as is in Princes or Brunswick. Other scents lurk as well possibly neroli. While the scent does linger it never wears out it's welcome. The tobacco is the same brown and grind as Tom Buck but it never has a chance to come to the forefront as an simple SP snuff would let. Very easy to snuff large pinches. This snuff is not at all cloying as I first thought. Well suited for all day use. I suppose I should test that first. For now it gets four stars.

Another one of Wilson's moister varieties, this one is a little finer ground than Brunswick or Princes. It has a nearly red, perhaps burgundy color to it. Its quite pungent in citrus like the Brunswick, but the scent is less floral. It is also pungent in some pine or cedar scenting with possibly a hint of sandalwood and juniper. There is a spicy note on top of that and it is rounded with a subtle hint of something sweet and mellow, perhaps tonquin or vanilla. It has a very clean feeling, but becuase it is moist, it can get clogging at times. Also due to its high moisture content, I reccomend decanting out of the small tins as the moisture will cause the tin to rust from within. Keep it airtight to preserve moisture and scent. This is the most complex of Wilsons moist snuffs. The pungent scents are not going to be for everyone, though.

Great mixture of very solid tobacco and several different floral scents, highly reminding of F&T Princess but not quite as heavy and not as moist. This one´s more easily an all day snuff. The long lasting effect is a very positive surprise, as some Wilson´t lack in duration. The mixture seems complex. Sometimes I get an obvious citrus scent, sometimes not. I´d bet using the bulk version is even better than the tin.

Deep golden brown, medium to quite dry in moisture and of medium grind, this snuff shares some characteristics with Fribourg and Treyer Dr J R Justice and Bordeaux. The initial nose burn is followed by citrus, roses, violets, sandlewood, tonka beans, spice, followed by some fruitiness in the finish. Aromas linger for a long time, with some flavours being more obvious at different times. A good complex fusion. Nicotine low to medium. 9/10.

Moist, a rich reddish mid to dark brown colour and quite a coarse grind. This is a type of dark SP with a light floral and citrus flavour. Very tasty indeed.

Medium milled and fairly sweet and spicy. I found it a bit cloying and irritating to the back of my throat.
Update:Feb 2010. This is one that I went back to and to my surprise found absolutely excellent. This has happened several times in my snuffing career and just goes to show how much our tastes can change in even a short period of time. What I find now is that Burgundy is actually a spicy and delicious snuff.
