Reviews for Wilsons of Sharrow Peach Melba

Mid brown and medium in all other respects, and sampled from a tin fresh from the mill. This is a disappointing snuff for me. I was hoping for a good combination of fresh peaches, raspberries and vanilla, but instead there is a woodiness (perhaps the peach stone?) accompanying the peach, with a very subdued vanilla flavour and no evidence of raspberry. The finish is sweet, and there is an unwanted 'drip' later. Toque Peach is much better, and mix it with their raspberry and vanilla snuffs for a better version of Peach Melba. 3/10.

This was rather dissapointing coming from Wilsons. They have so many top notch snuffs, but sadly a few duds. What this reminded me of most was their Vanilla. I was also disappointed with that one. This seems to be the same snuff with some added peach flavor. The flavor is not bad, but the snuff is too clumpy/sticky. I guess its a fair enough representation of "Peach Melba" but if you are looking for a true Peach snuff, go with Toque. This clogs my nose up quite a bit. I will not get this one again.

This snuff is fine, but not very dry- it's a reddish brown, coppery kind of color, very pleasing to the eye. If you're looking for a bright, sharp, fresh peach smell, don't go for this one. Peach Melba is a muted, musky, milky peach type of smell. The peach is there, but it mostly lends a vague fruity sweetness, apart from that it's a milky vanilla icecream smell. The texture is very silky and it feels creamy on the nose- I love it for that! This snuff is incredibly easy to take, about no burn to speak of, and no gross tasting drip. The drip is neutral tasting and doesn't burn as bad as a lot of other snuffs I've tried. It's got a dusty, muted smell to it though, every now and then it almost reminds me of a whiff of sweaty old clothes; that sounds pretty negative, but a lot of dairy smelling things smell that way to me, so don't let that deter you! I liked the Peach Melba enough that I decided to order a couple of other WoS blends, curious to know if some other snuffs from that brand are as soft and easy to take as this one. The thing is, THE TIN, dear god THE TIN! I effing hate the tin! It seals shut really tightly, the issues I have opening it almost remind me of the ozona tins I used to try to open. I've finally gotten the hang of slowly opening them, but the angle at which it needs to be done causes snuff to pill all over the place! I'd say more than a third of the container so far is dispersed over the floor, my clothes, the recliner, once I had a friend try to open it for me since I was having so much difficulty, and it exploded all over his shirt! Star off for the packaging, arghh. tl;dr: If you're looking for a mildly sweet, muted, creamy snuff that is easy to sniff, this is a good choice- but I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for something 'special', because it doesn't really stand out in any way.

The vanilla flavour doesn´t strike me as hard as some others, compared to Wilson´s Vanilla snuff this one has rather a creamy note to it, but not really a strong vanilla flavour. The peach is present, but a bit subdued, softer than in some other "pure" peach snuffs. Outside I´d swear there´s also a hint of raspberry, but I don´t get that indoors at all. Quite sweet overall. Well, it´s not really bad, but nothing I´d rebuy for sure and it doesn´t thrill me the slightest bit.

Fluffy, silky, and oh so deliciously rich and flavorful. An excellent snuff for those who are sick of all the SPs and want a little bit of something different. This is the bass notes of peach without the sharp tang of the real deal, combined with - well, if Wilsons wants to call it "melba", they're entitled, but to these American nostrils it's more like cream. The end result is very sweet, but it's a sugar-sweetness, not the sweetness of a perfume or even a schmalzler. The snuff itself is a smooth, soft fine grind that forms clumps in the container, but those clumps melt away at even the gentlest brush of a fingertip. It has an odd amount of bite to it too - careful, you're liable to tear up. Take it a little bit at a time, because a little bit of this snuff will last for ages in the honker. I wouldn't deliberately take this as an all-day snuff, but if it was the one snuff I had for a day I wouldn't complain one bit.

Definitely peachy! There's a creamy type of flavour lurking in the background as well which sets it off nicely. It might not be for everyone; it's good if you have a sweet tooth, as it is definitely a dessert snuff. Would probably combine very well with a chocolate or toffee snuff too. Easy to take with a lasting fragrance.

Just as it says on the tin! Peach is the predominant flavour but vanilla (as in ice cream) comes through quite strongly too. It makes an excellent combination in a snuff as well as in a dessert, and this is certainly a dessert snuff and not one I could use all day. The base snuff is the usual mid-brown one that occurs in many of Wilson's snuffs so no disappointments there either.
