This snuff is great! The base tobacco is outstanding. I did receive it factory fresh so that does play a part in my opinions. I do seem to like darker snuffs though. I'll definitely need to get more of this blend soon.

Nice! Rich, dark and full. I have not had the Frederick Tranter version for comparison, but I have had most of Wilson's SPs. This is a top notch SP. I find it richer in bergamot than Tom Buck and the Virginia tobacco in this has a nice leathery fullness to it. Most Wilsons have a Zimbabwe tobacco, so the different character is evident here. It has more of a robust nature, I would say. Be wary of older tins. I have a second one which is much lighter in color and somewhat lacking in taste.
In fresh condition it is extremely satisfying.

Just seems to share the name and general direction with the inhouse produced Frederick Tranter Gold Label. It´s far less pronounced on the citrus and floral flavour, but has a stronger tobacco flavour. It seems to be a different, slightly darker tobacco base being used here. Stronger in nicotine, too. Edit: In the long run, the flavour´s not that good as it seems in the beginning.

Nice light citrus scent, just a touch of floral and a good amount of nicotine. A little nose burn but nothing like a dry toast. An authentic tobacco taste. The American tobacco is delicious. It is not quite an SP, but similar. It has a straight forward and honest taste.

Wilsons have probably the biggest selection of plain SP types than anyone else and some of them are pretty near identical. This is very close, if not identical to, their contract made 'Tranters' Gold label. All very beguiling. . Nowadays I just go straight for their Best SP

A medium-moist, fine ground mild SP type snuff. Light and quite tasty.

A fair plain tobacco snuff, nothing really stands out as special with this one but is good on occasion. I detect similarities between the tobacco used in this and the Irish High Toast #21. I do like to use this one in-between different scented snuffs as a way to kind of cleanse the pallet and prepare my nose for something new.
