One of the most delightful mixtures I´ve come across with Frederick Tranter snuffs. There´s a good amount of citrus in there, but most remarkable is the addition of lavender and cinnamon. Pure delight. I found it very hard to stop, once starting to pinch it. Very easy to take.

I love this snuff. I first bought it in Tranter's in Oxford. I was on a daytrip to see the Pitt-Rivers museum (which was closed, naturally), and had also been reading Whatsizface Pullman's trilogy, partly set in Oxford, so I was in a rather impressionable state of mind. Anyway, it was a really beautiful day out, and this snuff reminds me of it.
The snuff- a good citrusy SP after the spirit of Tom Buck, but with more bergamot. Actually, maybe a bit too much bergamot, but very nice none the less.

Cotswold appears to have the same base snuff as Tranter's SP and Grand Cairo, being a medium-dark brown and having a medium-coarse grind. The moisture level is similar too. While Cotswold does have a certain amount of light citrus/bergamot flavouring, floral and spice scents are more immediately noticeable. I think this old nose may be getting just a little too jaded to identify everything that has gone into producing the flavour though!
