Indeed, this snuff disappoints a fair bit. As Dholakia have proofed in the past that they´re capable of producing top class snuffs, I can´t really understand how they could launch this snuff as it is. The name´s promising. Mint, peppermint in this case and vanilla go along very well. But there has to be some balance. Unfortunately, not in this product. The peppermint scent fairly lasts 2 seconds, gone ridiculously fast. The vanilla flavour lasts for some time, though. But it ain´t one of the best vanilla flavours I´ve encountered in a snuff... worlds apart from Toque Vanilla, for instance. Most unimpressing.

This is quite an unusual combination in a snuff and I think it does work fairly well. The mint part of the flavouring appears to be peppermint, though that doesn't linger long in the nose, soon being shoved to one side by the vanilla, which does last for quite a while. Grind, moisture and colour - medium, medium and medium, as seems to be the norm with the western styled snuffs from Dholakia. Not that one should be deterred from trying these snuffs for that reason, but I would have scored this snuff higher if the peppermint scent had lasted longer.

Some may call this "candy" snuff, but I like it. Better balanced than Toque's straight Peppermint, I really like the notes of Vanilla. If you try to mix Toque Peppermint and Vanilla, you won't get the same flavor as this one. Toque's Vanilla, IMO, is not very pronounced and leaves me wanting. I don't get that with the Dholakia Vanilla Peppermint. Not an everyday snuff for me, but a "special treat" part of my collection. Bottom line, try it, you'll like it.

I just had to totally update my review of this, and lower it down a star and change my comments. I bought a 25g of this, as I thought I'd really like it, because I like the cool sharp of mint. Sadly I am a very disappointed with this. Temptation Minty Vanilla. I was looking forward to this snuff, expecting a good cooling mintiness, which I like as a sorta alternative to menthol, with a nice vanilla backing. I have been snuffing this all morning with a fresh nose, and the question I keep asking myself, is "where is the mint?" I wish now I had gotten a 10g. But with snuffs, you really don't know till you try it. Dholakia makes quite a few stand out very good snuffs, a lot of so-so snuffs, but sometimes a failure. I have to call this a failure, and it's all because it has no discernable mint in it. And the vanilla aspect isn't all that either, and has a not so good back drip. I think I'll mix in a little McChrystal's Supermint in this and see if it fixes the problem. As it is, it's better called Non-Minty Not So Good Vanilla. The 5 star system to me, is 5 is great, 4 is good, 3 is OK, 2 is poor, and 1 is trash.

Actually quite a novel combination of flavours, certainly not one I've ever seen before. The vanilla balances out the bite of the peppermint creating a smooth snuff that has something of the menthol about it.
