Reviews for Wilsons of Sharrow SP100

Compared to Best SP, this has a finer grind giving a sharper hit, however there is also a silken smoothness to it that softens the sting. It seems to be stronger in bergamot as well, but not as heavy & rich as Tom Buck/Queens Extra Strong. Quite pleasant and could easily be anyone's all day snuff.

Pleasant tobacco scent with a touch of citrus. Slightly fine so sniff gently. Lovely.

A nice SP that has a delicate citrus taste. I prefer this to Tom Buck and Queens, in that the SP 100 seems to have a more well-rounded and intriguing (bergamot) flavor. This is not as strong as the TB and Queens in the nicotine arena, but is a better suited for repeated use throughout the day. A strong-enough burn makes this a great pocket companion.

Very similar to the SP 2, only the initial citrus hit is missing here. The tobacco comes very well through, as well, but maybe due to the absence of the sharp citrus it seems a tiny bit more dominant. Not bad.

I really like this, having got hold of a few tins whilst on holiday I re-aquainted myself with it after not having seen it for ages. One of the things I love about snuff is the massive variety, you can forget about a brand for years and then its like meeting an old friend. The grind, nicotine and moisture are standard WoS SP but with a certain silkiness to it. On opening the ridiculously over filled, tacky old WoS tin I immediately got a sharp citrus like blast of pure snuffy goodness. When you take the first pinch its almost like biting into a lemon. There is a pronounced and complex flavour to follow with bergamot, citrus and other high notes floating around in there. A faint hint of jasmine or flowers somewhere? In any case its refreshing and palatte clearing. If you like snuffs like Toque original or Tom Buck then this is for you - a very, very good snuff indeed.

Medium brown, medium grind and medium moist, this SP has similarly light levels of bergamot to the Wilsons SP2, but with a distinct leathery tobacco base that is a deeper brown than is usual for an SP. It is enjoyable and the earthy leather reminds me of the Kendal Brown of Samuel Gawith and Wilsons Best Dark, but it is not as refreshingly light as say Best SP or Tom Buck. 8/10.

Of the variations on the Best SP theme this is my favourite. Of a slightly finer ground it is fractionally more pungent than Best SP, but considerably less pungent than J&H Wilsons S.P No.1. The bergamot/citrus tone is perfectly balanced with the tobacco. A good example for sampling the distinctive Sharrow taste.

Very similar to Best SP but having a slightly finer grind. Well worth having on hand.
