Very light pale tobacco with a good citrus burn. What is not to like. S.S. reminds me of the S.P.#1 snuff in a lot of respects. If you are into S.P,'s you will enjoy having this around.

Interesting that people say this is "hard to find" - I just wrote to Wilsons regarding another order, and they sent me a sample tin of this. No nonsense! I find SS a little bland, but it also reminds me of some of the milder American Scotches in the feel of taking. Good nicotine punch, but to my battered nose - there's no detectable flavors of anything at all whatsoever. A slight whiff of tobacco base for a second or two, that's all. Not one I would get again, though there's nothing really bad - or good to be said about it. I simply find this a boring snuff. I certainly prefer Best SP to this one at any time.

This is the finest and palest of Wilson's SPs. It has a significant nicotine punch, probably due to the fine grind. It has a good dose of bergamot, and perhaps another citrus note as well. The tobacco flavor stands through as well, much like the SP2. The flavor is however, not as robust as Best SP, and is less complex (which is not necessarily a bad thing). The bergamot fades a little too fast. This and SP2 were old recipes both relaunced in 2009. It is now available from most online vendors. Don't bother asking Wilson's what SS stands for, they don't know themselves.

Not really that impressive to me. It´s quite a finely ground tobacco with lots of Bergamot, delivering a sharpness first, which settles pretty quickly. The flavour´s actually very good, but it´s way too soon gone. The appearance and taste reminds me of McChrystal´s S´nuff, which is way better imo. Still, the S.S. is surprisingly easy to take, for such a fine grind.

Pale brown, almost toast colour, finely ground, quite dry to medium moist, with a satisfying initial burn and only available I believe from Snuff Store (hence SS?). This snuff is a real gem, a finely ground S.P. with plenty of bergamot and the nicotine hit of a high dry toast. Perhaps not a snuff for novices, but one that is really addictive. It's a shame it's not more widely available - it knocks Best SP and their other SPs into touch! 9/10.

This snuff has been described as hard to get and made only by special request but it really deserves to be more widely known and available. Imagine a moist version of a high dry toast with a hefty dollop of bergamot flavouring and that is exactly what this snuff is. It's fairly pale in colour, fine and silky between finger and thumb and absolutely delicious! If it were much drier I could imagine it being quite a challenge for an inexperienced snuffer but as it is it is just perfect. If you get a chance to try it, don't hesitate!
