Reviews for Dholakia White Snuff

More of a novelty snuff in my opinion. It is too fine for practical use out and about. Slightly cloying and does not have enough clearing effect to make a good intermezzo. The scent is an unrewarding and short lived dried shrimp that is hardly possible to get to the proper senses without going too far. The feeling of burning, harming while it sits is great enough for me to not use this often. The nicotine is there making for an immediate lift. Not a snuff to share with beginners, Dholakia White would make a fun pass around indoors with a group of more experienced snuffers or for youngsters to snort so that their friends can witness them going into shock. Interesting enough for any nasal snuff user to try.

Well, after labeling the stronger scotch snuffs as "extra fine/very dry" it is perhaps prudent to create a new level of grind for this snuff. It is much finer than any scotch or toast, or even Dholakia Sparrow, so "extra fine" is a bit of an understatement. Great care must be taken when using this to avoid pain or coughing fits. It is extremely difficult to use, and not recommended for beginners at all. The flavor is very natural, and earthy. I too, get the dried fish scents, and also sme degree of creamyness. These sorts of flavors may also be off-putting to the uninitiated. The color is not white, but very pale tan. It is white only in the sense that it is not black, like its brother the Black Snuff. It should not be confused with tobacco free "white snuffs." This is certainly a tobacco snuff. The nicotine rush is strong, sharp and fast. Nothing else really touches this in quickness of hit. I find the best way to take this is by holding my breath and just gently rubbing it into the nasal membranes. The slightest inhalation will bring it shooting back to the troat and trigger a cough reflex. Squeeze the nostrils together after placing it inside to allow it to moisten up and prevent this, while continuing to hold ones breath. Great to keep on hand for the occasional rush.

This extra fine powder will go where not intended for certain. Not a problem for more experienced snuffers. It does sting a little, must be some special salts in it or something. The scent is good but mild and doesn't last long due to the fineness. The nicotine rush is good too but it's a quick spike with a sharp drop off so you might want to have a more substantial snuff handy too for before or after this one. The smell reminds me of the South African Gwayi snuffs like Taxi although the Taxi is much longer lasting, in nicotine too. This would be a good one to give a wanna be, poser who is not quite ready for the true path. Kudos to those that use this as their all day snuff as that can't be easy. Recommended for those quitting smoking as the nic spike is fitting but you MUST know how to snuff FIRST or this will choke you out. Good to have in the arsenal!

Not quite white, but very light tan, with the finest, driest grind I've ever experienced, this has to be the least "user friendly" snuff I've ever tried. A slight ammonia scent, backed up by a musty, sweaty, exotic, dried salty anchovy quality that has something of the fragrance of a crowd in a very hot, congested market place. If it sounds terrible, it isn't; it's fascinating, intensely stimulating and unique. The burn is very, very intense, but has more of a stinging quality than the warmer burn of the great Toasts, and is rather short lived. The nicotine hit comes on more quickly and massively than any tobacco product I've ever used--literally within seconds. The only way to take it in my experience is to take a very small pinch, and slowly raise it to your nostril while breathing as you normally would at rest. As your hand approaches your nose, you'll soon feel the snuff flying up your nostril--and you WILL feel it--long before your fingers reach your nose. The burn and nicotine rush of this snuff are like no others, but it's intensely rewarding once you get the hang of it. Somehow both agonizing and ecstatic, there's nothing else like it.

The smell of an asian market (particuarly the "dried fish" section). The color of eggshells. The pain of snorting crushed chili peppers. The nic rush of a noseful of Rooster. Holy moley. Most of the time, "white" is used as a code-word for "tobacco/nicotine-free" - whoa Nelly, not here. As has been said: This WILL bite. Your eyes WILL tear up. You will very possibly lose some feeling in your extremities as the nicotine blasts your brain. And if you're at all a fan of High Dry Toasts or vitamin N, you WILL come crawling back for more. I find it helps to get the nostrils all nice and drippy with a few good sniffs of L260 or a similarly mentholated snuff - this way, the fine powder of Dholakia White will moisten up before blasting all the way to the back of your throat. Sorta the snuff-taker's equivalent of a water bong. I don't think there's a snowball's chance in the Sahara that I'd use this as an all-day snuff, but it definitely demands a place in the snuff-taker's "emergency kit" - one quick trip to powder one's nose with this juice, and one should easily make it through even the most boring of meetings. Probably the closest thing there is to legal cocaine.

Once you figure out how to take it, this is an excellent HDT. It helps to spray saline in your nose before snuffing it. It is a bit rough on your throat if your nostrils are dry. It is worth the trouble as it has a good simple tobacco flavor, wonderful burn and gives a good nicotine hit. When I first tried it, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle it but with persistence, the reward was well worth it. This is one that will be in my permanent rotation. 12/20/09 Update- well I blew right through the first 25 grams and am now working on a 50 gram jar. I'm not having any trouble taking it now and it is my normal all day snuff. I can't keep away from it. Has anyone else noticed a gym socks after note with this?

Wow! This snuff is very interesting! The flavor reminds me of a lighter, creamier Sparrow with a nutty, subtle flavor. Its very good, but does not have any mercy at all, and is for the advanced, or adventurous, snuff taker. One wrong sniff sends a load of this very fine, very pale powder to the lungs. Once tamed, this is a wonderful snuff to have around! I prefer the flavor of Sparrow, but this one is great too.

Whoo, mama! Is this the first Indian HDT? Wow. It packs not just a punch but a whole arsenal of lethal weaponry. Milled to almost a dust-like consistency and even paler than the HDTs I'm used to, this snuff takes no prisoners. It WILL burn. It WILL make your eyes water. It WILL hit the back of your throat. You WILL get a nicotine rush that you wouldn't have dreamt existed. At the risk of being called a masochist, I have to say that I love this snuff, but it really shouldn't be attempted at any cost until toasts and scotches have been mastered. And it'll still hurt even then. Please sir, can I have another?

Now, the flavour itself is truly great. Creamy, nutty, pure tobacco goodness. But how to get it where it belongs? This is the driest, finest stuff I could imagine. I succeeded with all the scotches and HDT´s, but I just can´t manage to succeed with the White. It gets miles past its destination, every time, leading to choke I´ve never had with any snuff. None of the techniques I´ve developed in the use of other snuffs works here. So, I just can´t give more than 3 stars for it. Edit: Taken up the advice to "rub it in" the nose, rather than sniffing. This works. But of course, this way it won´t be one of the snuffs I use in public. Nevertheless, I give it another star.

This has to be the highest, driest toast I've ever tried! Very pale, very fine and very dry, this is just plain tobacco. It also has a massive dose of nicotine awaiting the unwary. I'm sure there must be n. rustica in the blend to give that effect. It is a very satisfying snuff but can be equally unforgiving to the unwary, due to the super-fine grind and dryness. Definitely not for beginners, but well worth a try once the other toasts and scotches have been mastered.

Simply magnificent High Dried Toast type snuff form the great Dholakia company. Ive been a heavy smoker, and am now a heavy snuffer and have a huge tolerance for nicotine but this baby set even my head spinning. The flavour is standard HDT but its the raw power of this snuff that marks it out as exceptional. Don't even attempt this unless you are very used to strong snuff.
