This is my absolute favorite snuff. Clean and refreshing. Spearmint through and through with nothing else in there. I can understand why this snuff has been around as long as it has. Theres nothing new to add since everything has been discussed already in the 20+ reviews that are previous to mine.

A very nice snuff with a refreshing and clean taste. The flavour is slightly penetrating but is long lasting. Although this is not mentholated its the type of snuff that would appeal to menthol lovers as a kind of variation on a theme.

Clean spearmint flavour. I found it can go a bit far back so sniff lightly.

Wrigley's Spearmint does come to mind while enjoying this snuff. I am reminded of trips to my local QT mart as a child. Soda and candy, the occasional baseball cards and such. Simple, enjoyable, and comforting (like the name suggests). It won't rock your world, but it may bring an enjoyable moment of reprise.

I never could get enough spearmint gum and I think it is going to be the same with this snuff. The snuff is just as refreshing as the gum. It is very easy to take and has a long lasting flavor. A favorite.

I found an old bag recently, with a jacket I haven't worn for years in it. In one of the pockets was a slightly nasty, stale tin of crumbs of comfort. I've been using snuff for far longer than I'm prepared to admit, and I think there's always been a tin of this classic snuff on one of my pockets. There's nothing spectacular about it, but Wilsons have been making it for hundreds of years, and its longevity is more than justified. It's easy to take, the grind is mellow and forgiving, while the mint refreshes and brings a delicious hint of spearmint to every situation. It's a single note snuff, with nothing but spearmint in there, and it is all the better for it. Crumbs of Comfort stays in my collection perhaps mostly as a mixer: CoC plays nicely with others, and brings an added dimension to many mixes, without suffering unexpected clashes from other flavours than the spearmint, and without any cloying menthol. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was Queen Charlotte's favourite stuff. This is quite possibly nonsense, but it's plausible nonsense - this is the kind of snuff I can imagine being used at a regency card table as the players grew sleepy and needed a pick-me-up.

This is the first snuff I tried that was not made by Poschl. It is a medium-fine grind and a light, golden-brown color. It brought back memories of the spearmint gum my grandmother always gave to us in church. This is undeniably spearmint, and it does give a cooling effect similar to menthol, though I do not detect any added. The tobacco flavor stays in the background, ever so subtly. Its a good snuff.

Exactly the flavour I was hoping to find, since some other mint snuffs very kinda disappointing. The spearmint flavour is highly reminding of the well known chewing gum, but it is even stronger, clearer than in the gum. I also get the impression, there´s a slight amount of menthol in there, but that doesn´t really have to be the case. Just feels a bit like it.
Extremely refreshing sensation and works splendid with the tobacco base. A little peppery aftertaste, which is very nice. Appears to be a bit finer in grind than most other Wilson´s, but no problem at all. A perfect all day summer snuff!

Crumbs of Comfort- the name says it all. Wilson's makes two varieties of this product, regular and extra. I favor the extra product as it seems to have a stronger Spearmint flavor. This is one of the few snuff's that I always keep in a 25g tin. If you like Spearmint like I do, then this is the snuff for you. Very easy to take and long lasting flavor can make this an "all day" snuff for me. If you like American Camel Snus Frost, you've just got to try Crumbs of Comfort with it. I enjoy this combo at sporting events or picnics. During the summer, I always keep a bullet of the Crumbs in my shirt pocket. For me, it works best outdoors and is always a flavor treat for my nostrils.

A medium brown, medium ground and medium moisture snuff which would be ideal for beginners. I detect some menthol which clears the sinuses, but the aroma is dominated by sweet spearmint - like chewing gum with a pleasant nicotine hit afterwards. A refreshing, simple daytime snuff for spearmint lovers, which won't blow you away with menthol.

Without a doubt this is one of the most popular snuffs from one of the most popular brands. Certainly very well known since it has been popular for many decades.
There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not this snuff is mentholated. Personally, I don't detect any, and I'm pretty sensitive to it. If it is here its very light. Since mint (Spearmint being the predominant flavor here) has so many similar qualites to menthol, that is likey the source of the confusion.
I find this to be exceptionally refreshing, and could be the perfect pick-me-up on a hot day or after a days work in a boiler room!
I think even non-menthol fans (myself included) will find this one to be an occasional treat.

This is a refreshing snuff and provides a clean feeling. It gives very little (to none) nose burn from the tobacco and it is easy to take. It is non-mentholated but it gives a cooling feeling because of the mint flavor. The tobacco is not completely masked and it provides a good base. I do not find it to be clogging after repeated takes. I believe that it could be an all day snuff. It can be great for the summer while relaxing.

In case some of you haven't noticed, this is also offered as 'Extra' Crumbs of Comfort which is slighly mentholated in addition to the old regular CoC. That might clear up some of the confusion about the Wilson's categorization. I have a tin of the Extra and find it an enjoyable change every now and then.

I guess I'm no big fan of spearmint in snuff! Plenty of people like this one though.

This is a bit unusual as it's listed under Wilson's menthol snuffs but the spearmint is so overpowering I really can't pick up any menthol. It is aromatic with a strong spearmint flavor. It feels to me that it's a double-base snuff, on the surface it's medium ground but there is also some finely ground snuff in there so it can be a bit tricky to take. I find the same thing with Wilson's Peppermint. A more homogenous grind would be an improvement.
I like the head clearing effect on this one and the nicotine feels to me very low. A very nice snuff which gives a good flavor and a good blow. Nice afterblow also.
I think if it would be ground a bit more uniformly and a touch moister it would be even better. Solid 4 stars.

OK, hopefully this is the last time I post without checking Online status....I'm either getting very lucky as a newbie snuffer or reading many of these reviews is really paying off. I like this snuff very much even though I'm finding I don't care as much for medicated snuff's as I do the other ones. I can see this becoming a useful addition to the daily rotation I'm now working out. Refreshing, strong and clean tasting but with a clear tobacco and other tasty notes coming through. This one doesn't simply numb my senses with a blast of ice like a couple other mentholated one's I've tried. I'm glad I took some of your all's recommendations on this one!

After more 'tasting' very nice.Pleasant afterburn in the nostrils which is long lasting. I have read previously that all Wilson Sharrow are much the same, but surely this one isn't. Almost five stars for being so distinctive

Look at all these reviews you must try this snuff it is excelent. Not only is the spearmint scent great it mingles with the natural tobacco scent in a way that few snuffs will ever muster. There is a very pleasent ghram cracker like undertone to this snuff which is amazing and truely is a warm fuzzy and comforting scent.

Fresh spearmint nose in a fine tobacco grind. I wasn't sure I would like spearmint and was concerned that it would be sneezy for me but I was wrong! I love it. My imagination is running wild with the blending potential for this snuff. A very clean scent indeed.

Don't get the last review - the Crumbs is Spearmint not Peppermint, probably that'w why you're mixed up. This is a wonderful snuff. Excellent flavour and just the right consistancy.

I really don't know what to say about this one. The five stars are for what I first thought of this snuff when I discovered it. After one and half medium tins of this I went off it. I like peppermint, but this is too sweat and sickly for me.
I can take Prime Minister, their watered down version of this.
To anonymous, yes of cause it is spearmint. senior moment!

Wilsons and Co are my very favorite snuff maker and supplier, and Crumbs of Comfort is one of those reasons for this! I find this a great little number, with a scent that lingers in the nostrils for some time, which makes it excellent for a quick sniff before an office meeting!

I enjoy this snuff. It is a spearmint flavored, medium ground, semi moist snuff. When I sniff it, I am reminded of Wrigley's gum. If you ever chewed it you will know exactly what I mean. I can usually only do a pinch or two of very small size at a time. I will probably have the 5 gram tin for a while, even though I love the stuff.
