This is a really good snuff, good enough that it is one of the very few rare snuffs I would say are not only scented but even strongly so (you can't deny there is this big lime smell there but it doesn't even make me who is now after some bad experiences a bit 'scent-phobic' of strong smelling snuffs even I don't want to run away) but is still really good. Its really absolutely the best when you first get it but even after a few months baggied and sealed in its can, the lime in there is still strong and even if it has faded a little bit the fact that its a toast just really helps it out so its still really alright, maybe even makes it more ready to be an all day snuff instead of more of the 'specialty' just get for a treat once in a while type I was considering it to be at first. I have really been debating on whether to add it to my buy-again-in-bigger-quantity-and-stockup select few snuffs (I am fussy and not a lot make it to this list but certain Toques have and this might be another).
this is one of only three strong scented snuffs so far I not only like but really like (all three of them are toques, Lime Toast, Absinthe and Xmas Pudding)
would be 4.5 or 4.75 stars

This is becoming my favorite flavored toast! It is in many ways similar to Toque's Toast & Marmalade. Of course this has lime and not orange. I happen to be a great lover of lime, so perhaps I am biased. Sometimes it really works to defy conventional wisdom. Lime and toast, one would think, would clash with each other. As it turns out, they do not, (lime marmalade, anyone?). The scent is spot-on and provides a playful zesty lift in an otherwise straightforward snuff. First you get a nice zing of lime juice, then you are in the land of strong nutty-toasty flavors, with the lime singing back-up. My only bit of constructive critisism would be to have it just a hair less toasty. Really unique and well made.

Some snuffs are mild-mannered and relaxing, gentle and soothing on the nose and easy on the spirits. Your Crumbs of Comforts, your Spearmints, your QWS Irish Coffees, your Dholakia Swiss Chocolates. This is not a mild-mannered snuff. This is the snuff that comes over uninvited, tracks mud through the house, grabs your last two beers out of your fridge, chugs them both, commits war atrocities upon your toilet, and leaves with a grunted "ta". Not only is it a high/dry toast, but it's lime-scented. It's not just the typical HDT burn - heavens no! - it's its very own shrivelling, acidric, tears-in-the-eyes this-was-a-mistake searing explosion. It takes no prisoners in its mission to weld itself to the walls of your poor, innocent honker, so that the eventual blow requires the force of a thousand suns, leaving your eyes bugged out like Roger Rabbit's and your nose freshly raw. Toque deserves points for thinking way, way outside the box here; boldly going where no other snuff has gone before - but if the end result isn't enjoyable, a high rating would be condescending and phony. Perhaps this could end up becoming a critical ingredient in a reasonably nice homemade blend - I imagine a lime scent would do very well in a coarser, more-Kendal Browny grind, perhaps even with a bit of spearmint thrown in. On its own, though, it's something that deserves a try, but not something that necessarily necessitates an immediate bulk order - unless you and your rough-and-tumble men are about to sail the merry seas, in which case, as snuffster alludes, it's a compact, economical way to avoid the ol' scurvy. In all other cases, this is definitely a "try [small] before you buy [tall]" product.

For me this is Toque´s masterpiece of snuff, besides their Berwick Brown. The idea of flavouring a High Toast snuff with Lime is quite bold, but it works out marvelously. There´s a fascinating harmony between the absolutely natural Lime flavour (moderately citric and slightly sweet) and the toasted tobacco, a perfect mixture imo. The Lime holds the upper hand for quite some time, before the tobacco becomes more dominant, that is, if this snuff is pinched. When used from the back of the hand, the Lime is very soft and the slightly smokey toast comes through stronger. Both ways a winner. And it´s very easy to take, which is quite strange for such a fine grind. Strong in nic as well, so this snuff is all I´m asking for and more.

Very pale brown, dry and fine to extra fine in grind, this snuff shares the same tobacco base as the Natural Toast, but has a lime flavour. The combination of the toast character and the lime has the odd effect of producing a pungent "Dettol" aroma which is immediately apparent. This subsides to reveal the excellent biscuity toast flavour. Initially I was slightly repelled by the Dettol aroma, but I quite like the disinfectant hints. I don't think lime works that well with a toast (it clashes and the lime flavour is lost), and it certainly won't appeal to everyone, but I keep getting drawn back to it. Weird and occasionally wonderful. Inviting, like a nice warm "Dettol" bath when you've got infected wounds. 7/10.

Bold lime scent that settles into a toasty tobacco. The scent is good and I would like to see it in a natural mix. It's a little odd in a toast. Though it provides a powerful counter balance. I'm really not sure what to make of it.

Toasts are my favorite snuffs and even with the subtle lime flavor, it is still definitely a toast. I was afraid the lime would overwhelm the toast flavor that I've come to enjoy but the flavors are perfectly balanced. This isn't my favorite toast but I will definitely buy again.

A solid toast from Toque. Fine, with a strong toasted tobacco smell, as well as a potent whiff of lime. Very nice scent to it, and smells dead on. I almost taste the sourness when I have a pinch of this.

When I was a kid, Starburst were called Opal Fruits, and my absolute favourites were the green lime ones. Toque's new toast is the closest I can imagine to stuffing Opal Fruits in your nose, and then having a massive swig of Rose's Lime Cordial. The instant I opened the envelope that the delivery came in I was transported back to my dad's Ford Corsair in about 1975, and the overpowering scent of lime from the treasured sweets. There's nothing retro about the snuff though - it's fine, but less powdery than most toasts, and lacks some of the leathery and aged flavours of the more traditional toasts. It's light and fizzy in the nose, with a nice amount of burn and a fairly mighty nicotine content that gets the heart racing if you overdo it. The lime itself is fantastic: heavy and strong and refreshing and natural and it seems to complement tobacco tremendously. When you consider how many other citrus flavours are added to snuff, it's amazing that nobody has made a lime one before, and perhaps it takes a new eye like Toque's to rethink the way these things are done. Toque have created a few unique flavours in snuff over the last few years, and Lime Toast is just the latest - there is no other snuff on the market like this, it's tremendous stuff and it fully deserves the epithet incomparable.

Another winner from Toque! This is an excellent flavoured high dry toast. The base tobacco is excellent - pale, very fine and dry, but it is that flavouring that really grabs the attention. Just like Rose's Lime Juice. Instantly refreshing and tasty. My 10g tin will be empty in no time at the rate I'm going throug it.

A great, light toast with an incredible zing of lime. The lime is pretty strong but is balanced enough for you to still get the toasted tobacco flavour. This is a good addition to Toques toast range but I suspect will be a love or hate it snuff as that lime is pretty much out there and dancing on your senses. Take it on long sea journeys to avoid scurvy,,,
