Wilsons' "home court" is probably the SP, and this may well be my favorite of their many different SPs. This is a snuff that is at once relaxing and invigorating, strongly flavored but not overpowering. It's a snuff that smells like a lady; it smells like a cuddle; it smells like a daytime snuggle. More a "scented powder" scent than a "perfume" scent, it's light and airy; it's neither clogging like a schmalzler nor clearing like a medicated. The scent, a carpet of fresh flowers, lingers for quite some time in the nose, and while it may become a bit "leafier" after a while, it doesn't "evolve" as drastically as some other snuffs - and I'm not complaining. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. A lot of SPs have a tendacy to burn in the nostrils - this is not one of those SPs. I find it even more gentle than Toque Original - just don't confuse "gentle" with "flavorless". A lot of the Wilsons SPs can easily be lost admist the sea of SPs offered by Wilsons - don't let this become one of them.

Marvelous! Its quite amusing all the flavors reviewers are guessing are in this one. Sheffield Exchange lists the flavoring as Citron Spice. Citron is a distinct citrus fruit. It is not lemon, nor bergamot. Its main use is in its rind (both the zest and the pith) for flavorings and scentings. Its not normally a food fruit. The "spice" side of this refer to that zest, though my nose keeps telling me there is a touch of cinnamon or soemthing in here. Many reviews are also calling this a floral snuff. Its not (though it may have a hint of Rose as Best SP does). This is a highly fragrant SP, using the most piquant of citrus flavors. One thing is clear, and that is this snuff polarizes the reviews into love or hate. For me, this is so magnificent, its one to get in bulk someday soon.

I detect an SP base with a soft, gentle sandlewood component, rather like a younger, fresher, more citrusy version of F&T French Carotte, little to no burn, and a gentle, very fresh lingering after effect. The scent is so subtle and complex, and the tobacco base so light, it's easy to forget with this snuff that you're inhaling tobacco into your nose. It's definitely a unique blend, and is just the thing when you're looking for something very light and refreshing to relax with. A very calming, relaxing effect, but look elsewhere if you want an assertive or astringent, eye-watering SP. Very low key, including the nicotine, but sometimes nothing else will do the trick quite like the Strasbourg.

Hmmm, I´m sure I don´t do this snuff justice by rating it like this, as I can clearly see why many people cherish or even love this snuff. The base seems to be a SP, but toned down and they added, as far as I can detect, rose and sandalwood. These 2 are very obvious and strong and the strength of them is part of the reason why I don´t like it. The flavour´s strength is too overwhelming for me. There´s also something very spicy in there, nearly clove-like, giving it something reminding highly of x-mas time. At the right time and toned down, this could be all pleasure I presume. Well, for most people it should be just perfect as it is and buying a 5g tin is affordable and recommended.

A very nice scented SP with floral notes and a hint of citron. Easy to take, although it can burn a little, and suitable for all day use.

Strasbourg is a very strongly flavored SP. It is much darker and a bit more coarse than most SPs as well. The bergamot flavor is a bit less defined, and is strongly accented by rose and perhaps sandalwood. The flavor doesn't stay in my nose as long as I would like it to, but it is very easy to take so taking many pinches is not a problem. Definitely an all day snuff, and a top SP in my book.

Bergamot, sandalwood, rose, lavender. That is what I get. Very similar to the Best SP except for the sandalwood and the grind is more like like Tom Buck's. Strasbourg has a lemony freshness going in. I'm guessing that's the citron. The balanced scent is long lived and quite uplifting. If you like SP snuff and don't mind the mild floral hint then you really need to find out how well sandalwood counterbalances bergamot in a snuff.

Quite an intense nose feel with a big blast of floral spice. This is a more strongly flavoured version of their SP. WoS can have quite a burn attached to them and so does this snuff. If you like strong floral type flavours this is one to go for.

Medium brown, fine grind and medium moisture. As soon as I opened the tin I knew I was going to enjoy this snuff. Fairly easy to take, there is plenty of sweet citrus and rose flavour, spice, a hint of sandlewood and musk and a long floral finish. Not for the faint hearted as it is quite assertive and may become tiresome as an all day snuff. Nicotine quite high. Ideal with a cup of afternoon Ceylon or Earl Grey tea. 9/10.

Hated it.......very floral to me.......very very floral....gave the tin away after one sniff......perhaps im sensitive to floral scents but I felt it overbaring and sickening........to me it was nothing at all like SP best ......or any SP for that matter .......the florals in this one, whatever they be take over and dominate the entire experience........if you are into florals you may love this one.....the scent seems to last forever and stays with you.....if your into florals give it a try.....if your into pungent, tobaccoy, distinguished flavors this will not suit you at all in my opinion.....

I do agree, the similarity between this and the Samuel Gawith No 1 High Mill is quite remarkable. If anything the Strasbourg has a slightly stronger flavour and a longer burn. The base seems to be SP with orange and floral additions, though not too much of the latter. Very enjoyable.

This is very similar to their Best SP but I find it more agreeable somehow. It is a bit sharp but seems to have less of some citrus component I don't care for in Best SP while adding some additional flavor(s) that I do like more. It gives a long burn which I don't get with the SP. Grind is medium/fine, moisture is dry/medium, and nicotine is medium or a bit above. Well worth trying if you are a fan of Wilsons Best SP and want a little variety. I could live with this one and not miss Best SP at all. Overall a very pleasant SP, and in my opinion is a close cousin to Samuel Gawith's SP No. 1 High Mill.
