Reviews for Wilsons of Sharrow Tangerine

Orangey, buff colour, finely ground, medium moist and sampled from a tin fresh from the mill. The base tobacco is slightly toasted in the vein of their Irish Toast No. 22, and there is a strong, almost effervescent, zingy orange aroma. I really don't know why this snuff has received such bad reviews recently. I must say that a citrus toasted snuff is a bit strange, but it works to some extent, although I don't think I'd rush out to buy more. Worth a try, especially if you're fond of Toque Lime Toast. 6/10.

Not bad, but not one I can't live without. At first I thought it was very tangy and gave a slight burn. It took a few days before I got a real taste of tangerine. And it is quite clearly tangerine, not just orange or Tang as some have suggested. However, the tangerine flavor lingers for a second, just almost within reach, and then its gone. Then I'm just left with a tangy sweetness. If you want something in this vein, I recommend Toque St. Clements instead. This one is worth a try though, and if you do, give it an honest try, since for me the true flavor didn't reveal itself right away.

No! I repeat No! If you are looking for an Orange/Tangerine flavor, you need to look elsewhere. Others have described this one as "sniffing Tang." I could not agree more. There is no hit of freshness in the flavor here... it's all artificial. Take my word, if you are looking for Orange/Tangerine, go with the Toque St. Clement's. You'll thank me for this recommendation :>)

The first impression this Wilsons snuff delivered was simply intolerable. Rather "Rotten Orange" than "Tangerine". After 2 days of concentration on it, becomes slightly better. The senses have to get used to it. But is it rewarding? Not really. And keeps burning, when sniffed. The flavour´s dull and you can´t detect the flavour after about 1 minute anymore. The tobacco´s struggling with the foul fruit and thus can´t shine either. What a shame.

Sickly sweet dull rotting orange juice flavor. Super sneezy for me. I can't get to the tobacco in this one. I personally must have an aversion to the scenting. I will keep trying but I think this snuff may just get lost in some dark corner of my universe. The funny thing is that when I'm old and grey rummaging through the junk of times gone by. This will be the relic I stumble upon to remind me of my copious collection of the past. How ironic will that be?

Fruity snuff with a distinct tangerine flavour. Im not wild on fruit flavoured snuffs but this is ok.

My first experience of this snuff, quite a while back, was very nearly my last. The tin I bought at a small, local shop back then was clearly very old, the snuff as dry as dust and totally lacking in any sort of flavour. Fortunately I was given a tin of it by a friend recently and this tin would appear to be how it should be. The grind is medium fine and the moisture medium dry. The flavouring is distinct and yet not overpowering. Yes, possibly chemical but not at all bad anyway. Worth a try I think.

This snuff is dry but with a juicy flavor. Piquant and balanced it has spicy citrus notes complimented by an earthy undertone.

For anyone who grew up in the US, It's like sniffing Tang! Its not very fine, but sits very well in your nose. Like I have found with Wilsons, there is not much Nicotine, but it does have a very pleasnt smell. If you are a fan of citrus, and Tang, you will ove this snuff. for a bit more of a kick i have added it to the remainder of my McC's Mild Lemon (30/70) for a great citrus snuff, with the kick i was looking for.
